I ordered a 23/64ths 6 flute chucking reamer a few days ago.
The reamer arrived today. I was a bit leary to try it out on a $100 mould, so I decided to use the reamer to remove the g/c shank
from one of the cavities of a $20, 2 cav., Lee, 358, 200 gr. mould.
One cavity is now PB, one cavity is left as a g/c design.

What was the process Ben? Drill press and slow? Lock down the mould or let it float?

Excellent work.

Let me guess, no photos or video of the work?

We really need to get you a video camera.

Tripod Ben, tripod.
I have one in the garbage all the time now. It does pretty well getting the camera angle right for the lathe.

Or, if really desperate you do have a wife?
Mine isn't always excited to video for me but it does work and she can get into places where a tripod just isn't practical.
Don't forget this simple fact- a tripod doesn't need to be taken out for dinner afterwards. Just sayin...

Helps a lot getting close up's of everything going into the back of the truck.

Garbage, garage, close enough? Mine is full of "stuff", things like 6 buckets of range scrap that needs melting, a lathe, a casting bench, and all sorts of other stuff.

Ben,
I hope you like that bullet as much as do. It will almost put the on the same hole with the old stand by, 10 grains of Unique.

That is in my Tikka 358 Win.

I may have to do that to 3 cavities on my mold.

Good work!

And with the number of 358 moulds Ben with plain base in the future the expense per mould will be minimal.

Thanks Malcolm,

This bullet with 10 grs. of Unique in the 358 Win. would be a great combination.

Don't slow and gentle with plenty of cutting fluid a reamer will leave a very smooth finish.
