I'd think the Lee 200 gr. would make a great bullet in the 358 Win.

Gaaaaaahhhhh!

Ben, you're killin' me!

I have one VZ24 action left. Commercial bolt handle welded on, D/T'd for sights AND scope, cleaned up and ready to go. I've saved it for a 358 W for cast bullets and I don't have the budget to accommodate the project just yet, but you're making it very hard to resist.

I'm getting that you ran the reamer via the drill press motor. I was envisioning you hand-turning the chuck.

I may be stupid, but I have to ask - did you simply close the mould blocks around the spinning reamer to achieve this?

I have both 30 cal and 35 cal moulds on which I really need to eliminate the annoying GC rebate - on at least half the cavities. I've done some crazy-hillbilly things in my shop and got away with it. Learning a bit more sophisticated method isn't going to hurt me.

No, the reamer has a tapered end, it easily starts itself into the gas shank entry point of the mould ( the mould was closed when the g/c shank was removed ) . You just have to have 2 things perfect :

The reamers must be perpendicular to the hole.

The reamer must not penetrate deeper than the gas check shank ( controlled by the stop on the drill press )

It could certainly be done by hand.

Ben
OK, I got it. I have to shop for a couple reamers. Thank you!

Wish I still lived in Huntsville sometimes, Ben. I'd be pestering you on Saturday mornings.
Good thing for you - Uncle Sam had other plans:).
