Thanks for trying to figure the mystery. Something jammed up the slide and the spacer came loose. That powder measure had seen many miles. No telling. It's fixed now running very well.

Is it possible something was in the powder to bridge the powder bar and spacer block that would apply pressure to the spacer block? Or a seriously gummed up powder bar.
I have maybe 70-100K through mine and think replaced it once or maybe it broke or I lost it.

Sounds like a powder bind putting pressure on the plug? I load mostly ball powder or pistol maybe thats why no problems for me?

thread swerve here, I think that is required on this site anyway I have lost more parts than I broke.
Like everytime I clean it I lose something.
Anyway over the years i have ordered from Dillion what I lost or broke and have ended up with about enough parts for a new machine less frame and ram.
Sometimes i may even fib "embellish" what I need and get extra stuff

Well, Dillon did send two of the plugs. Everything was put back to together. Since the break many hundreds of handgun rounds have been loaded without incident.

Things happen: I have had a handle break off as the casting broke. Several other casting have broken. One primer system was worn out and replaced. When something goes missing I know it is someplace in the Skunk Works. That plastic plug may have been damaged before it was installed. Something mysterious happened that caused that spill. I have have been using 550's for maybe twenty years. The powder measure break is a new experience.
