Post WW2 Mauser conversion

Built in 1949 on VZ24 action, chambered in 30-06, double set triggers, butter knife bolt. Supposedly done in post war Germany for a GI. Side rail mount reminiscent of a Paul Jaeger mount came with a 6x scope. Still learning how to shoot it with the German post and heavy crosshairs, but the RCBS 165 SIL and 2400 are showing some promise. (10 rounds @ 50 yards)

Before my time but I've heard these rifles called either cigarette or carton rifles. Supposedly GI's could get one post war for a carton of cigarettes.

Can't wait to get my Swede sporter back (finishing the stock work). It has been a sporter project in the making for 30 years!

Very nice Mauser, and good shooting!
The thick reticle used in many elderly german scopes is a bit of a challenge for target work, but very functional for hunting- particularily in weak light.
