Power Pistol

I bought a pound of PP to try in my CZ Scorpion 9 mm carbine. Nothing special, accuracy wise with three different cast bullets, Berry's plated and 124 TC commercial powder coated bullets. Shot ten shot groups with ladder loads, from minimum to maximum. Might be OK in pistols but then just about powder is. IMO. I'll stick with AA #7 for high performance 9 mm loads.

The last of that pound will be used up in my Bulldog, just like the WW 231, I tried.

I load 9mm Mak (9x18) for my SIL. I don't recall exactly why I first tried Power Pistol, but it was the first (and only) powder I tried in that cartridge, maybe it was the highlighted (most accurate) load in the Lyman manual? ...ANYWAY the SIL said he really liked the load, I didn't get much more info from him, just that he liked it. SO that's what he gets. I haven't tried it in anything else. I kind of like that 9x18 cartridge, one day, I may just buy a gun in that caliber ;)

I really like PP in the 40's. I have a Smith and Walther 99 [heavy] and a Kahr CM40 [light]. Both like this powder the best. Teh S&W gets 175 @ .401 the Kahr@.400 so it sees the Lee 145 just to easily tell which is which. I went through several powders before landing here, BE, RD, Herco and BD, stayed with Power pistol.

Both of these are very interesting fuels, esp. for the autopistol calibers. As soon as one or the other shows up locally, I'll snag a pound and see what develops. The Alliant data for both is intriguing.

Power pistol has been pretty much my go-to power in 9 mm and 45 ACP load for several years now, it meters well and has given me excellent result in my handguns and 45 ACP carbine. I added three more pound to the stash over the past couple months.

Used it in 9,38,40,45- havent tried it in the 380 my wife would not appreciate the fireball and report, I like it but it is a little more expensive than some of the other powders. Good bang, bright lights, big city, my guess is they kept the flash suppressant out of it just for that reason.
