Price of Gas!

Went into town Thursday and a discount station was down from $2.89 to $2.44. On the way out 4 hours later they dropped again to $2.09. I went in on Friday to fill up 7 jugs as I only had 2 jugs left full at the shop. The price was down to $1.99.
Payed $2.92 per gallon for #1 heating fuel in late October. Just filled my tanks for $1.95 per gallon, and I'm sure it's down more now.

Boy propane prices are all over the map. I cruise around at least 6 weeks in mid winter, 12 weeks if I can spare the time. Cheap propane in Oregon, expensive in Washington and California. Arizona pretty reasonable. Here in Alaska it's been high. This is not from current experience but recent experience. I can go from $1.63 in Grants Pass, to northern Oregon and pay over $3.00. Alaska it's always up there.

$1.119 ethanol $1.509 nonethanol today. Jeep was little less than 1/2 tank. Took $9.75 to fill it. I feel like I am back in highschool at these prices.

We haven't bought gas for quite some time. I'll look at posted prices next time we head out for groceries or some other Kommissar-approved activity.

5$ and you could go on date - movie/popcorn/gas (0.25$/gal). Gas war got down to 0.19$/gal. The old Ford flathead got 30mpg. Course it was 3 speed and no AC, sometimes no heat.

Oh come on popper you were there when the phrase " a Fords heater is at its best in July " .
Gas was cheap when I was there too . 59' Ranchero with a 352 T Bird , 3 speed , no OD , 3.73s on 6.50-14s (195-75-14 by my time) got about 23 mpg at 66 mph out on the road , 17-18 around town . 2/60 AC .

Got an inch of rain this morning, RB- sending you a 'present'! Stay safe. And we say Mexico never gives us anything- these northeast training storms are the pits. Supposed to get into high 30's Monday. The 49 V8 flathead never heated up enough in winter but it did have wing window vents for summer ac. Dad's 47 Stude had side flap vents that worked real good.

When I was in High School in the late 60s, gas was $0.36 for premium. $0.28 when two stations would get in a price war.
I drove a '68 Camero SS with a 3/4 cam, bored and stroked and a fuel block that fed dual 4 barrel Holleys.
We got 8 to 9 MPG if we drove easy, 5 to 6 MPG if we got on it, which we always did.
Like Popper said, $10 would fill up the car (12 gallons), pay for dinner at Jamles (a sit down high end hamburger joint in Dallas) and get two tickets, popcorn and drinks at any movie house in Dallas.
Man, we were living high on the hog back then.
My buddies drove Mustang Mach 1s, Chevelle SSs, Judges, Mustang GT Fastbacks, none of which were stock.
We were invinsible and bullet proof!
I don't know how we lived thru it!

Wasn't too long ago I would have bet good money that I would never see that again. A few days ago I paid $1.55 here.
