Primer Shortage

I just loaded up my 1000 rounds of SPP's. With some advice from others figured it would be best to have loaded ammo. So split them between .380, 9mm and 38 special.
Still have a couple hundred pre primed brass in .357, waiting on some bullets to cure for another couple weeks then those will be loaded up.
Then I will just be down to casting.
I have .223 primed brass, and plenty of SRP's but out of bullets.

I just finished unloading the last of the lead, presses, bows & arrows, and shotgun hulls & wads; from this weekends haul. I wasn’t the first guy to get there. All the dies, brass, powder and primers, had been cleaned out by the son and a family friend.

So, now I have all these wads and hulls and not a single Loose 209 primer in the house. It’s a good thing that this stuff doesn’t rot real fast.

Maybe I’ll load a few of these in 2022.

Nice haul Joshua. I did the same thing last summer, and the wife bought seven old wood cook/wood stoves, etc at the same place, so we had to make several trips back to get it all. Every time we went back, he found a couple more boxes of AA hulls, ended up with about 5000, mostly once fired. Looks like you did real well on the shot too, there is some good hard sixes there. There's still a following for those Herters wads also. Doesn't look like that Mec 600 has been used much at all.

The Mec 600 is brand new. I hope I got all the little pieces that went with these presses.

There is also a Texan electric heater wax paper melter depriming press thingy! I’m a little out of my element here. I showed up for the lead; and then left with everything else.

My Dad and cousin live on one of the islands around here where it is shotgun only for deer hunting. That’s really my main interest at the moment, slugs, big balls, and, buckshot.

I’m not a great wing shooter, being left eye dominant and shooting right handed. Although loading up and then shooting a bunch a practice loads would sure make me better!

Looks like you have the makings for plenty of practice rounds there in 12 gauge. That Mec looks like a 28 gauge, but angle could be deceiving.
That press in front of the Mec Says Savage. I didn't know they ever made a shotgun press.

I should have started a new thread. Sorry for all the drift everybody!

But, if you’re gonna drift then you might as well lean into it, Fast and Furious style. So here are some more photos!

The Mec is a 410 loader!

Here is a photo of four of the five cartridge reloading presses. A Herter’s Super model 81, a Lachmiller Olympian, a Pacific Super Mag, and an older Lee aluminum Challenger.

And here are the two Texans. Reloading press and heater, decapping thingy.

I have a couple of the Savage shotgun presses. One in 20 and one in 12. Haven't used them yet, but they look like they'll work!

Tried to include a picture, but they all end up being to large for the server to handle.
I'll try to get them reduced.

I have plenty of bullets and no brass lol No way I am paying the price's I am seeing, .40 is now cheaper than 9mm, 223 is 3x the price I was paying, when you can find it. 2 week shipping delays, some of these places are advertising brass but they don't have any - "please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping" and this country is getting ready to crack!! I should sell my inventory and pay off my house........

I just picked up this morning at the club. Got about 70 or so mix of lake City Federal and Remington military crimped .556.
I have hundreds of pre primed, back already.
So if you do not mind dealing with primer pockets, and you want my morning ground score, they are yours. A gift. PM me an address.

If some of us wanted to swap primers, how do we comply with hazmat requirements?
Only way I have ever done it, is to pre prime brass and send it by 100 thru UPS as loaded cartridges.
Cost me about 12 bucks.

that's for sure the easiest.
the only other way is to bone up on the requirements, and then UPS's policies then go into one of their shipping hubs.
once your there you can educate the kid behind the counter on how to do his job and what srickers the boxes need as well as how to put an X in the proper box on the haz-mat packet he'll need to stick on the side of the box.

oh,, if you decide to use that Texan size-heater press as a heater [and not just a sizer] and it doesn't work, you can replace the element with one from a soldering iron.
they don't really work all that great as a heater repair tool anyway, they are built upside down for that application.
