As I was searching for PP 6.5x55, I stumbled over this .303 Savage. Which also is a base cartridge for the .414 SuperMag...

Midway has it as well.

Some odd brassis showing up. It looks like more brass is out there... Now if only primers would return...

I bought some of the PP .303 Savage brass a couple of years ago, for my model 99. It works great for my cast bullet loads. I have never loaded jacketed bullets for my .303...

just shows how interested none of the companies are at trying to meet current demands.
how long does it take to set a machine up to make [303] brass?
I'm not really complaining mind you, we need 303, 7X57 etc. type cases too, but another couple million 308 cases would have probably went a lot further over to the loading line.

but then again the first Remington ammo I seen on the shelves was 7X64, followed by 300 Savage, so [shrug] I guess business as usual, instead of meet customer demands, is still the word of the day.

I think the ammo from Remington we are seeing is the back scraps of the warehouse from the old company. Selling everything down to the floor to generate some cash.

As I've surfed the net for brass, I see a lot of odd stuff, like WSSM. There is some 223, 9mm, 308, and whatnot showing up, but the in-stock stuff tends to be enhanced uselessness. Prices range from sorta realistic to WOW! Unless you want Lapua 6.5x55 [$$$], things look pretty sparse. I have about two or three boxes of Norma 6.5x55 brass [looks unused]. I'd like to light up a Swedish Mauser, but I can't come up with decent cases. Norma is very decent, but I just don't feel I am worthy...

Supposedly... the Federal folks they put in charge of the Remington ammo plant have been getting things moving... not sure how much impact...

Not sure how much to believe, but a friend of mine used to write for one of the gun rags, and has developed a lot of contacts in the industry. He told me today that his contact at the "new" Remington factory, that is responsible for producing primers, told him that primer supply should be returning to normalcy by January. He was told that they will be producing primers non-stop.
Just passing along what he said...

Making primers is like printing money. Except they have physical value. Haven't seen anybody with primers for a few months... Except Canadians... Huh, finally someone figured out making something with high demand and no stock is a good thing... I suppose all that business MBA learnin' was finally discarded... Like to see the folks that snap up everything they can to scalp on see their stock depreciate in value. Boo-f[snip!]g-hoo.

The 6.5 Japanese is out of stock again ..... Norma is $2 ea , PPU is 72¢ ea .

Maybe I dumb lucked into stuff .
I bought 500 45 AR pre owned for the same money as 45 ACP .
I bought low volume dies for $25-35 a set shipped . I figure the 45 mag will set up fine for Schofield . With the heavy forming work load a guy should have a spare set of 6.5×50 . $15-20 for Universal neck dies , I bought 2 . I've sold and bought several moulds at usual prices .

Dad's stash didn't hurt me any for powder or primers .

I always seem to run into high pressure issues with PPU brass even with mild loadings. Maybe it’s just me…

Ppu brass out of my 303 savage made in 1906. 100yds with a 8x scope. Velocity was something like 2300fps?

I ended up going with reloder7 and the hornady 130 spirepoint as my deer hunting load.

He was quartering away. went in right behind that right leg, out his neck. He dropped right where his is in the pic.
