Quick cast iron question

Look at the Deep Pans you can get one of them new for about half of the pot version of the same size .

You could capitalize on the hole with the turkey burner . Melt out with it on top and drain into the other pot . Blend and final clean in the bottom , leave all the clips etc in the top .

I once brazed a cast iron steam trap by heating it with a "rosebud" and gouaging the crack out and cooling it in a bucket of lime.

While propane is denser than air, accidentally igniting an air/propane mixture in a tank could prove fatal.

If you're going to cut or weld on an old propane tank, completely fill the tank with water after removing the valve and then drain the water out before cutting.
The water will positively displace any gas remaining in the container.

The Risk verses Benefit equation is pretty extreme when we're talking about death on one side and 5 minutes worth of minimal effort on the other side.
