RCBS Does It Again!

I bought my RockChucker press in 1978. A couple days ago I was doing something with it (that I probably should not have been doing) and broke the priming arm. I fired off an email asking how much to order and replace the part.
Today, I got the typical response email... part's in the mail, no charge!

I LOVE these guys!

I called a while back and asked them about the cost of a new o ring and washer for the inside of my rcbs lubrisizer would cost as i thought it would be a good idea to have a replacement around. I mean i've only used the thing for over 35 years or so.
2 weeks later i received the new one for 27.50 voided for waranty work....no charge!!!

Wish all companies took care of their customers like that!

Although I'm pretty much married to Hollywood Gun Shop presses and to a certain degree, powder measures, I'm going to have to be a bit more open minded toward RCBS products.

I'm pretty sure the only RCBS products I own are a kinetic and collet type bullet puller.

A lot of my reloading and casting equipment is of RCBS origin, easily a simple majority of the tooling. Over the years (starting c. 1971) I have had remarkably few needs for RCBS Customer Service to remedy a problem (first point of excellence)--and on every occasion in which a part broke or wore out the item was replaced at no cost (second point of excellence). Kudoes all around to RCBS!

More Green on my bench, than any other color. Been accumulating it since the mid 70's. Rare occasion that I have to use Customer Service. But, if and when, they will take care of you.........no questions, asked.

I have never had to use RCBS customer service but it is nice to know it is there if needed.
I have been fortunate enough to only need customer service twice, both times with a Hornady product. Both times I was satisfied with the service provided.

That brings up a question I had in mind, Brad. I've had multiple personal experiences with RCBS and Dillon over the years, both companies exhibiting the exact same attitude with replacement parts. I've also heard many, many similar stories. I've never had to call upon Lee for anything of the sort, mostly because I don't own one of their presses, I suppose, but I've heard they can be a bit less accommodating. But, I'd never heard much about Hornady's CS and was curious to know what other's experiences have been. Can you elaborate, please?

Once I stuck an expander in my Hornady 270 die, as in the expander was in the case and I couldn't get it out! Sent that case, die, and expander to them. They removed the expander, got the die all back together, and replaced the nut that holds the expander as I had torn it up badly trying to get it tighter. Wrong tools used made it far worse. My fault, yet they took care of it.

Second time was with a set of pistol dies. After almost 20 year I finally broke the decap pin on my 44 mag die. Again, my fault as a spent primer had gotten into the case and it caused the breakage. The decap pin was a single piece and I saw that they had changed the style a bit. I called and they sent me a couple of replacement decap stems of the new style. No complaints by me.

Both times I had screwed up, both times they took care of me.

I probably have more Hornady does than any other brand.

Oh, this wasn't a stuck case in the traditional sense. This was a decap rod and expander stuck inside a case. I couldn't get the decap rod tight enough in the die to get it out of the case neck. I have never measured but I bet the full length sizer is way over sizing the case neck.

Always free and excellent customer service from RCBS. I started out with a Lyman luber/sizer and found an RCBS too cheap to not buy. The RCBS was toggle feed on the lube pressure. My Lyman was pressured with a small ratchet, which I liked better. The older RCBS had been ratchet type. So I called and asked if I could get parts to convert. They told me it was not just a change parts deal that the bolt would need to be modified to accept the ratchet---bottom line was they sent me a new bolt to convert along with the ratchet---free of course.
I had a Lyman mold that had issues. They repaired it and the cost was fairly hefty.

I recently got a couple of RCBS molds that had been abused significantly. I called them to order a couple of sprue plates and some of the screws.
I told the fellow that I got them second hand but that didn't seem to matter, he sent two complete rebuild kits and a spindle for a 44 mag sizer I was missing, free of charge. If you want to make a lifetime customer, that's how it's done.

RCBS has been very good to me also. Every time I have called they just sent out the part even though I offer to pay.
