Those pads work !
Off cross sticks our 50 Alaskan with a 525 gr. leaving the barrel at 1850 fps really smacked my 140 pounds Added a slip on Limb Saver and it is a quick none painful slap backwards.

Use their product on my Hoyt Split limb (between the splits) compound bow. Last recoil pads I installed were Decelerators. One was on a 12 gauge Mossberg 3 1/2" Utili-mag and the other on my Marlin 1894............to increase the length of pull.

I really enjoy limbsavers.. have installed on the 444, 35rem, and others... nice cushion and seems to be long lasting, although a 336 I have has some issues.... need to look a little closer and give their customer service a buzz

While I am more of a steel butt plate guy, I did re-pad the 450 Lott with a Pacmeyer pad. I am considering doing the 358 Norma with one of the limb savers, as it is pretty sharp with 250's at 2700 f/s.

Advice for one that is not too thick and ugly? I have short arms.

I installed a Kick EEZ pad to my 358 NM. It wore a factory Bell Carlson that looked good but was just foam might have been perfect for a '06 or 7Mag but was aweful with the NM.

I have always used Pachmayr recoil pads. Some of them have been on rifles since the mid '70's. They may not be as recoil absorbing as the Limbsavers but they have not gifted me a melted blob of rubber in the bottom of my gunsafe. I know of two Limbsavers that literally self destructed after 10-15 years. I have used Limbsaver vibration dampers on bows and they worked well. I want to see longer term stability before I would put the work into installing one. I am impressed that the company not only replaced the pads but offered to install them as well.

those softer pads will get a bit gooey over time.
they'll stick to carpet too if you let them sit on there for a few months without moving them.

Bought my first shotgun in 1968.............takedown Model 12 (12 gauge), used. Soon after, took it to a local gun smith and had a recoil pad installed, to increase length of pull. He used a brown rubber Pachmayr.......returned the hard nylon original. Still in good shape after 55 years.

I have a bunch of White Lines on my stuff .
I've had one go crumbly but the stock had sun and water marks I don't know when it was put on the 1916 Model 12 . The base plate is cracked just below the toe screw on the 65' 110LH was on it when I got it back in 91' or 92' .
Don't have any Limbsaver anything. I think I had some brush buttons one time ...

Yes they are far from tge only game in town. Pachmayer ruled the roost for decades and they too offer a DECELLORATOR with same or very close materials and properties. (Good preformance not melty)

Another company I like allot for "real heavy" recoil is Kick-EEZ pads. I have one on my 358 NM and really enjoy the removal of that "snap" of a 250g bullet clocking past 2800fps. I had five Limbsavers on guns and only three "leaked".

I fit one pad to a shot gun last night.

Knew this going in. and decided I am willing to replace every 2-4 yrs. The felt recoil reduction and wear and tear saving on my body is WELL worth the cost! (or, another part of getting older! and luckily having the disposable income to still play and enjoy my hobbies!)
