I was reading,and honestly chuckling about folks getting moisture problems in their scopes last night on the interweeb.

It's one of those topics..... purging and filling scopes with gas.... that just ain't that hard. Manufacturing used nitrogen cause it's cheap.Argon is the doodoo(meaning good) cause it's a larger molecule.We have both,and will use argon everytime.Stick the dang thing in a plastic bag and turn on the gas,assemble,voila.But folks are like,"you can't do that",must send back to factory. Uhhhh,how do they think the factory does it? No different than certain welding,plug... purge,weld,get on with it.

I was looking up "frozen" scopes( mechanically locking adj)... as a haha.

In Tony Boyer's book,about mounting BR scopes;

Center the adjustments,just because.... then use stoopid thin pcs of cellophane, or any plastic.... the scope is being bedded in the rings with epoxy.Takes two days or applications. Doing one ring today,other once that one is done.The cellophane acts as the spacer to get scope on target.Put it this way,he devotes practically a whole chapter on this and mounting in general. Brain food.

I'll just say this cause .... well,somebody needs to;

Anybody ever do any plumbing with pex?Then you've done the "crimp thing".Do you realize that the same process can be used to swage half jackets on CB's? Same tool as the pex'ness.Just got to make the inserts for the tool and find whatever you want for jackets.I ain't gonna do it but,that don't mean it can't be done.

Or skip the BS and use Burris Signature posi-line rings. Always bed the bases to the action, red Loctite is plenty good, or use bearing mount adhesive if you're really picky. I've done it with Acraglas and Devon liquid steel, it works but you need to wait a few days before turning in the rings. The Loctite sets in a few hours, less if you pack the mount in grease to pull the air off of the edges.
