You're right Fiver, Dick was seeing what could be done and had the cash and a gunsmith on tap to support his experiments. Pretty impressive stuff he did with it at really long ranges, things most wouldn't think possible.
Model 70 Featherweight rifles kick like a mule. Even standard weights aren't pleasant compared to other rifles with slightly different stock designs. I'll put the Sako rifles in that group too. Savage and Remington sporter stocks have been a little more comfortable for me, but I like Winchesters and Savages for other reasons, so that's what I tend to keep.
