I can fix this! Change the exclamation point in the title of this thread to a capital L and the problem is solved.
It wasn't till the thread was in its second day that realized it wasn't Nepal.

Caution: This is not a political thread!

How do I know this? Because there are no political threads on this forum.

Be careful where you go with this, it is starting to sink into that no-no area.

"NEPA" Is the fancy term that has been given to North Eastern Pennsylvania by the local news stations and Visitor bureaus

Saw today that PETA is our friend now, wants to get most of NIH management fired. None of their animal med experiments cross over to humans. evidently monkeys don't get HIV so testing on them for human cures don't work. Kinda like Dr. Brinkley's goat gonad replacements.

Newest Update: They are sticking with the 3 monkey thing ! All 3 have been euthanized !
CDC says it is because they most likely were carrying a virus transmittable to people!

I wonder if they stopped off in Wuhan on the trip here?

Ok Just watched our 6 pm news: It seems that the woman that found the last monkey and called authorities had close contact with the monk! She is exhibiting symptoms of pink eye and high fever...They put her in to quarantine!
Damn I hope you guys are not right! This is getting scary!

Just saw that in the news. I'm all for medical research but frickin' around with deadly viruses seems like it should be done someplace people aren't- like maybe Antarctica or out in the middle of the desert- the Sahara!

What animal, other than humans, can be infected by Mycobacterium leprae?

What the hell! Doesn’t anybody see a problem with flying and then driving infected monkeys around populated areas?

Yeah, but how else are they going to do that "gain of function research" that they say they aren't doing, except, well, yeah I guess they kinda are...

From what I read those monkeys are prone to carry and transmit some form of herpes virus. Too bad they didn't "euthanize" all of them before they got here.
It is beyond me that they would transport them all over the damn countryside before they had been quarantined to make sure they were safe. They know they need to be checked so we will just drag them behind a pu truck on icy winter roads, what could go wrong?

Last night they said the caught 3 of the 4 but one more was still out there! This morning they changed that story to "They got all 3 monkeys that escaped!
Ok Someone is lying! & Oh yeah! The monkeys just got off the plane in Kennedy Airport, were put on that truck and were headed to a lab in PA to quarantine and test them for disease! It crashed before it got there!

Ever read the book or see the movie "Outbreak"??? This is the exact scenario.

Different concept, Electromagnetic Pulse or EMP, but potential the same outcome as “Outbreak”.

Read this book by William R. Forstchen - “One Second After”.
Seriously goes into a SHTF event, which EMP, in the case of this book, or chemical, Biological weapons or biological accidents can be created by malevolent actions or arrogance governments dabbling in things like gain of function research. In the first case we are victims, in the second we are the convenient lab monkeys. Either way we are victims.

I just realized this happened about 90 minutes from me, in the town I had my neck surgery a year ago.

And Rt 54 is a 2 lane country road we use as a shortcut to avoid Rt 80. It’s hilly with a lot of turns and not one you would want to take a truck this size on. This is a road you would use when you didn’t want anybody to stop you and ask questions. Everything about this story is fishy…

I have a buddy there in Danville, I’ll ask him it he’s getting any local info on it.
