I love the Ruger #1 and your stock work is impeccable. Nice lines and great cartridge.

I have checkered 3 rifles that I restocked....after a long learning period. My eyes won't let me anymore. It takes me as long to put on a basic checkering pattern on a stock as to build and finish the stock. Over 100 hrs. I could do decent work but not fast enough to ever consider making a living at it.

I do like checkering, it eases the handling of the rifle in the woods, don't need to grip as hard to hang on to it.....LOL. Adding checkering is like taking a pound off the rifle.
