Very very nice shooting impressive to say the least.. NOW I will probably be the only one here to say this but like the 3-30 I think the 12 twist has lot to do with the two cartridges liking cast bullets

I think you're really onto something with that one ! !

Did you plain base one of the cavities? In the photo they both look like a GC bullet.

I would certainly expect that in the 1750 FPS range a plain base 30 cal would be hardly ideal.

Yes, the T/L version got plain based.
It shoots great..........Just can't hot rod it.
I shoot the plain base version out of my Tikka , 30-06 Springfield.
8.2 grs. of Amer. Select with a large pistol primer.
Will put three rounds in a ragged hole at 50 yards all day long.

That is some good shooting right there!
Do you like that bullet design?
Been seriously think about one and was curious on your overall experience is with it?
From plain base to gas check velocity’s?
Thank you sir!

I love the design.
I worked with Tom Ellis at Accurate on the features of this one.
After a good bit of interaction between Tom and I, this is the
final product.

I'm not certain that I'd change a single thing today.

1-10" in 308 and 30-06 vs. 1-12" in 30/30 WCF. I always find it interesting that National Match M1A/M-14 barrels often employ a 1-11" twist.

That rifle and its users can darn sure SHOOT. Those groups are Matchking-grade. I have almost zero 308 time with castings, but a whole lot with 30-06. Most of my 30/30's best groups have come with bullets under 180 grains in weight. The 30-06 has done better with 180 grainers or heavier. Not a hard & fast rule, but generally that has been my experience.

Remington 700 .308 and others are 1 in11.25 or 1 in 12, way back when, some one at an armory ran a bunch of Springfield barrels with a 1 in 11 twist, turned out they shot better than the 1 in 10 , but no one dared to "buck' the system so it was never researched any further1 in 10 it was supposed to be so 1 in 10 it is .

I have shot the plain base bullet in my 30-30 Handi with guilt edge accuracy.
Speed was about 1,200 fps.

The gas check design can be run up to 2,000 fps.( Of course....... at 212 grs. not in a 30-30 )

That 1-10" 30 caliber twist has been with us since the 30/40 Krag and its 220 grain RN bullets at 1900-2000 FPS. Quicksilver points out correctly how traditions and tendencies become permanent "Thou shalts".

Try as I might, the 03A3 couldn't get Hornady's 168-grain A-Max to perform as accurately as Sierra's 165-grain SBT. Then one day I finally saw and read the small lettering that said 12 twist.
There is something in my gene code that is anti-direction reading.

That 2-43 four-groove dated barrel, Sierra bullet, and a goodly amount of IMR 4831 out shoot my vision.

I mentioned earlier that I removed one the gas
check shanks from one of the cavities.

I've always wanted a stainless Ruger #1 in .308 or 7 x 57. Never been able to find one that didn't require a mortgage.

Nice Shooting !
