I bought this one NIB yesterday.
When the rain stops here, I plan to get to the range with it.

If it works well with cast I can see a couple issues.

One, it will be so much fun to shoot my other guns will feel neglected.
Two, I don’t know if my Dillon can keep up.
Three, my lead supply IS finite.
Four, how do I get a mould that can keep up?

Maybe Winelover will chime in here. He's been shooting a 9 Carbine with cast for a year or so and I've been examining the bore with the bore scope looking for leading and most times there's none, looks like he had just cleaned it.

Many questions.
I will be at the range soon ( if this blasted rain will stop ).
I'll know more when I can get to the range.

My recommendation would be to use gas checked bullets. Some of my loads are moving close to 1600 fps. Even with plated bullets......Berry's recommends using their "thick plate" bullets for loads above 1500 FPS............... very easily accomplished in a carbine length barrel. I get some minor leading with PB, none with GC's. I have reverted to putting aluminum plain base gas checks on bullets I intend to use in the carbine. Any future moulds will have GC shanks.

I had some pistol developed loads on hand using an older lot of AA#7 and Lyman's 120 TC plain based bullet. Eight grains was producing 10 shot groups of 2 MOA, from 50 yards, using a camera tripod for a rest. Ran out of that lot of powder and bought a new 8# jug, especially for 9mm reloads..............I have half dozen 9mm chambered firearms. Was unable to duplicate, with the new lot of AA#7. I don't know what Accurate did with the powder but I can't load eight grains without compressing that non-compressible powder..................that 120 TC bullet is starting to deform/meplat, is significantly wider. COAl's are shorter, at the same seating die setting, when try I go above 7.3 grains. Alloy is pretty much the same..............14-15 BHN and air cooled.

I have not found RN bullets to be as accurate as FN or TC, at the longer ranges. This being the case, regardless if I use cast or plated.

Other powders, I have tried are Bullseye, Unique, N-340, 231, and Power Pistol................... all do fine, nothing earth shattering. Most result in sooty cases............ charges ranging from mild to wild. AA#7 leaves quite a bit of powder granules in the action. However, I modified a hard plastic brass catcher, designed for a AR. I'm not chasing brass, but it doesn't allow the granules to escape.

I mounted a 1" tube , " circle dot " , 1X - 4X illuminated reticle scope on my Ruger 9mm carbine. Should be about right for this one.

A 30 round Glock Mag is in the carbine right now :

I use a 4X Simmons 44 Mag scope, strictly for load development, in QD rings. The Trijicon is what it wears, the rest of the time.

The Ruger wasn't around when I purchased the CZ Scorpion. Too bad, cause it's priced about half as much. I can see the appeal for those Glock and Ruger pistol owners................I own neither brand chambered in 9mm. CZ has priority mags but the 30 rounders are available for @ $20 each.

I don't own a Dillion. I'm retired and like to reload on a single stage. Recently, processed 5K rounds of once fired range brass. All cases sorted by headstamps, primed and ready to load. Something to do when the weather is frightful.

And, Ben got a glock mag happy stick....?o_O

There is terrible influences, and whatever we are.

Welcome, Ben, bwahahaha...the dark side has been waiting long for this one.

Classic firearms runs the Korean glock sticks for 9.99 quite often, they work splendid for us. The lnl ap with case feed is your friend.

I disassembled the rifle tonight , cleaned it good and removed the Glock Mag. adapter from the rifle. In lieu of the Glock adapter, I put the Ruger SR9 Mag adapter in place for my 1st trip to the range in a few days.

if Hi-Point can make them in 40 and 45 I don't see why Ruger can't.
I'd personally like to see one in something like 10mm, 44 auto, 30 carbine, 45 win mag, or something newish and cool like a 41 mag rimless type case taking a 210gr rnfp [XTP factory ammo] of some sort.
it would be super nice if it was at least as accurate as my lever guns are too.

That takedown feature is nice. I darn near bought one when a local shop had them for 399$. Kinda kick myself for not getting one.

Well, Ben you can take the glock mag adapter out, but it's still a black plastic carbine.:)

They make this stuff called hydrodip. Might make it feel more genuine to Ben's style.
www.google.com/search?q=wood+hydro+dip+rifle&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjAz_7PjtPfAhUVcqwKHXTzBQEQ2-cCegQIABAB&oq=wood+hydro+dip+rifle&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-img.3..33i299l3.14941.16264..16456...0.0..0.91.494.6......0....1.........0i30j0i8i30.zdiDu8cMIfg&ei=fckuXICdIJXksQX05pcI&prmd=sivn&biw=732&bih=308

That would be a hoot in any pistol cal, in huntable cals it could be phenomenal.
