You've shown more actual gunsmithing expertise in this than some of the folks out there
who are claiming to be experts. :)

Nice work Ben.
You made one on the finest revolvers around even better.
Now go shoot a few thousand rounds and that trigger will start to really shine. Nothing slicks up a gun like using it,

Graciously, Ben sent me his 9# spring. It has worked for everything but CCI small rifle Benchrest primers. Does just excellent on my standard Federal 100's, Federal 200's and Winchester small pistol. Thanks Ben.

Enjoy.
Did the spring improve your single and double action pulls ?

The cup thickness must be very similar to my Tula SP Mag primers which didn't work so well with the 9 lb. either.

Ben, yes to both, but I just use it for a plinker so mostly single action. Seems to have taken off about 15 - 20%. But I polished the main spring strut while it was out and that helped the double action more than anything I think. It had a couple of "gravelly" spots along the way. Thanks again!

My feeling is that BR listed primers have the thickest and hardest cups. BR guys run loads very hot to reduce ES, so it is needed.

My 1892 Win wouldn't fire the BR primers either. They do have some tough cups.

Bill,

You most likely already know this but, ..............
Just be aware that my Wolff spring kit that I ordered for my SP 101 357 Mag., said that it WOULD NOT work in an SP 101 rim fire revolver made since 2011.

OOPS. Will have to see if they have a different kit for the .22 model.
Thanks for the info, Ben.

I have one of these Wolff kits sitting on my work table for the SP-101 x 327 Federal. Once back on my feet and fully hobby-capable, I will install the kit and clean up the revolver's innards as needed. One of those aroundtuits I didn't get to, along with the new rear sight on the Gold Cup.

I suspect that you are quite correct. I am about "750 rounds in" with this little blaster, and in that time the obnoxious trigger strokes (double- and single-action) have moderated a bit. Marie loves shooting the little beast, but the full-value 327 Federal loads give the 30 Carbine Blackhawk's report a run for its money in terms of volume and sharpness. One can only imagine what a 2" snubby firing 327 Federals would be like. After about 150 rounds of that eardrum drilling, I loaded up 400 pieces of Starline 327 brass with RCBS 32-98-SWC and enough WW-231 to prompt 950-1000 FPS. These shoot VERY accurately, and both recoil and report are fairly docile. I added Hogue neoprene Mono-Grips in place of the factory grip set, and that was another vast improvement.
