Rust remover (Eezeeoff ???)

Someone mentioned a product for removing rust in a post here recently. I can't remember the name but it was something like Ezeeoff.

Please let me know what that product is and where I can get some. Is it available locally, like Home Depot, Lowes or an auto supply store?

It is my go to rust preventative. It goes on like an oil but dries without that stickiness that draws dust and dirt. Pricey but good stuff. I usually clean the bore with more conventional stuff but run a patch wet with Eez-0x and then wipe the piece down. My guns are stored in a safe in a damp basement, in humid Michigan. I have zero rust problems.

One of those things I've been meaning to try.

I finally grabbed a can of Ballistol to see what the hubbub was regarding that concoction. Doesn't smell exactly BAD, but not something I'd get nostalgic about smelling. Weird stuff. I finished up with a couple iron moulds yesterday and saw the can sitting there. What the heck? I smeared some on the warm moulds and it congealed. Wiped off the excess today and will monitor over time. Curious mostly how easily it cleans off later. Rubbed it all over my favorite axe a week ago and use it today and no ill effects. The handle felt good - shiny, smooth, no residue. No gunk on the head. I'm as picky with my axes as my guns. Waiting to see if it dissolves deciduous sap.

I've read good things about Eezox from people I trust, so I do want to try it for rust prevention some time.

Someone did mention using it (or something) with steel wool in the thread about what we smear on our moulds for storage recently - I think.

Evapo-rust...Yep, I've used that to restore some wrenches that were left outside over the winter and then poured the used product back in the jug. Reused it and it worked great, just a little dark.

My brother swears by it, but I haven't tried it.

Stupid question, since bluing is oxidation, but does it also remove bluing?

I am a long time Ballistol user. The last gallon can I bought was 47 bucks so...... Just got back a week ago today from Texas where we made three trips out in the Gulf hunting ducks. I was worried about salt water and blued guns but I just re-checked them and no rust to be found. I took a water dampened rag and wiped the entire shotgun when we got back to the cottage each day. Then a dry rag, then an old sock soaked in Ballistol. The smell grows on ya.

Oh one last thing. Ballistol mixed with beeswax actually makes a useable bullet lube and is black powder friendly.

Evapo Rust , Ezyoff is an oven cleaner that is lye based . Good for grease but not what I would use for rust . Do not use Evapo Rust on blued items either.

I appreciate the insight - from someone who's posts I've come to trust and appreciate.

I got a pint of it and will start using it more to see how it goes.

Thanks!
