S&W site question

Hello all,

I have been searching the webs and called Brownells and S&W with little results.
A good friend wants a front site for this gun. Its a dovetailed site. And as much as I try to convince even S&W person the Hi Vis is different as he bought that and its not correct. Uts for the changeable site system.

This ine is good ol dovetail. Now if its a std dovetail I do not know. Im also wondering if a 686 with same style is interchangeable. Im thinking it is but maybe diff heights. (That could widen my search.)

Frankly i am shocked at the lack of knowledge of the person answering the phone and there lack of "need" to help me further. For instance, she said PC dosent answer the phone... She said she was a tech person, yet did not know of dovetailed front sites??

Thanks for reading this far. Any one have this or been down this road? Wanting a better front site? No one seems to offer a day glo or glo worm style blade.

Thanks so much for the help

Yea its a factory gun. I watched videos and all are same. Most must just "scope it" But he wants a chest holster and nonone makes that for less then the cost of the gun. ;). Fiber optic should be his answer... BUT FOR FINDING ONE. ;)

Covid 19 has most companies short handed and answering the phone seems to be the lowest priority.
If you can email a question and wait, it might get kicked around to the right person.
I've had some luck this way when they wouldn't even answer the phone.

Getting through on a phone is near impossible.
Is the dovetail cut larger or smaller than a standard 3/8 " dovetail cut ?

It sounds like you are describing one of the Performance Center guns. My 629-4 Magnum Hunter Plus has a dovetailed front sight and the rear part of the blade reminds me of the old Millett front sights with orange face.
