Saeco 453. 2C. Lists as "Saeco #453 45 Caliber (.452) 225 grn WC"

Any info would be helpful. Donor guns are a S&W 1917 (45 ACP/AR), SA 45 Colt, Ruger NMBH 45 Convertible and (IF it will feed/MAYBE) a Henry 45 Colt rifle. I REALLY see this as a perfect for the 1917!

No Seaco moulds ....... I'd guess it's like the 452423 which was good in a S&W 1917 . That S&W didn't care for bullets over 230 .

The 1917 I had to work with had .453 throats and a <.452 groove . September 1918 mid month by SN , undetermined as to whether it was the last of the Smith supervised or the first of the Army's . Untouched as far as I can tell .
The RBH doesn't care what it slings .
Mom's Colts 1917 runs #130 H&G , 45-200 SWC and the 250-265s with equal success , favouring the lighter SWCs .

I have that Jan Libourel designed mould and it drops .453" and 260gr. I taper crimp into the middle band so as to not use up as much space in 45ACP/AR cases.

I used to have one.
It was great for .45AR, in the M1917. I cast it pretty hard and crimped in the groove.
4.0grs - W231 or 3.5grs - Bullseye. Cast of 50/50 - #2/COWW, dropped at 231grs.
CLEAN holes in the paper.
Can't say about .45colt, never tried it.

I have that mold and use it a lot! Mine pours closer to 235-240 grains. Cast firm and loaded like hardball it is a good performer. Good enough to be my everyday ammunition.
