Scope took a dump

Went out today to try some shotgun slugs. Going back and forth from the shotgun to my ruger in 350 Legend. Shot close to 50 rounds in the 12ga.

While i was letting that cool i got out the 350. First thing was check the zero. Went 10" high at 100. Shot 5 more to confirm. Then loaded up some 200gr Hp with 9 gr unique. Proceeded to wack the steel plate at 200 yds. Shot 20 rounds and noticed the image was getting fuzzy. Shot 2 more rounds and the image went to completely blurred. I took the power lever and went from 6to 1 then back to 6. Well 6 looked like when you look through the scope backwards. I adjusted the power again and it went fuzzzy again.

Got home and took it off and nothing is loose or making any noise when you shake it. Going to have to send it in to have it replaced or fixed I guess. I can't believe that this hard kicking load at 1300fps killed this scope.

This is the scope. https://www.bushnell.com/riflescope...4-riflescope/BU-AR71624I.html#ProductWarranty

Morning Tommie!

I just yesterday received a replacement scope from Vista (Bushnell) I had sent it in back in the beginning if December. But they replaced the optic!

I just bought a Bushnell scope directly from their sight. Everything was “Vista” from that point on. Shipping was free and fast and the price was as good or better than the other scope selling sites. However... I immediately started getting blasted with emails from dating and “other” unrelated sites that wouldn’t have my email. Maybe that’s how they cover the free shipping...

Sorry, missed the link for some dumb reason. I've recently looked at the Bushnell AR series in the higher magnifications and went with Athlon instead, but, have yet to try this brand out. I've had good luck with Bushnell hope yours gets sorted out.

Recently bought a 4-12X40 Bushnell to replace the Ruger American's 3-9X40 Vortex, and will shoot it tomorrow. Got it through the RCBS/Bushnell/Weaver/Hoppe's/Champion veteran program. No weird in-coming e-mails.

Gotta love the weird E-mails and ads. I take great joy in nuking them with the spam blocker. NO, Natasha and Ludmila--I don't need an Eastern European lady in my life. The current Castilian Basque is more than sufficient in all respects.

I put a 4x12 Banner II scope on my 350 legend last fall because I want it on an expensive optic with a radical with extra strata so I can use my subsonic loads without having to re-site in or remember where to hold on a regular duplex. With the radical in the scope I just have a little dope sheet on the butt stock and I know exactly what to use for what ammo. The cost of a little over $100 was very nice and the scope is been very good for what I need it for.

Couldn't find a Banner II, so went with the regular Banner. I only hunt paper and at a maximum of 200-yards, so a many dotted reticle is not necessary. I like the adjustable objective lens. Came close to getting the same Athlon as John G. Nothing wrong with the Vortex, just wanted the extra magnification.

Correction to my above post: Used B'wana Bill's* birthday discount. Bought other stuff using the above veterans' discount -- savings from 30% to 50%.

My Bushnell went wacky, started a online for RMA. Latest note says send 10$, you ship. I just replaced it with vortex 4-12x50. Maybe when I travel to KC I will drop it off.
Design is interesting, inverting lens & cross hair on an inside flexed tube that moves around for bore sight.

Got the email that they received it. Now to see how long it takes. They said They will send another email when they take a look at it and figure out what is wrong with it.

Better then I got!!! I never got a single real reply. One time I got automated reply to a email but never a follow up. BUT I received a replacement! So seeing as I was in no rush they got a big thumbs up! Again!
Good luck TB!

I have had 3 scope shite the bed recently. 2 vortex and 1 Bushnell...all three failed at the adjustable objective/ parallax mechanism. Who knows, maybe I'm hard on scopes, but I don't really think that's the reason.

Two of the scope would get fuzzy after I took a shot or when I closed the bolt on my AR. It would take adjusting the objective to bring it back to focus. One of these two would only focus at 100 yards when the setting was on infinity.

The third scope, the lense in the middle of the scope actually got loose and was rattling all around the tube. When held vertically you could see the lense resting on the bell end lense.

So far, never had a problem with a fixed objective scope, so that's all I buy nowdays.

I just picked up another one of these. Lots of good features for the money, especially the turrets.

That's the brand I have been looking at waco. I almost bought the athlon when i got this one. Butthere was hardly any info on them when I got this thing. There are lots of scopes out there that there is hardly any info on them. I don't like to take a risk like that.

They track well, the glass is decent for the price range and they have a very solid built in zero stop. Illuminated reticle, and it is a first focal plane scope. The turrets have a very positive click to them. Both audible and felt. They come in both MOA or MILS
