Seating Stem

My friend Nick was trying to load some 9mm Luger with a
a new pointed cast bullet. He was having all kinds of trouble.
He brought his dies to me and it was obvious that he needed
a seating stem in his seating die to match the ogive of his bullet.

A little Brownell's Acra Glass and 24 hours later his problems
are over. You will not get a better fit than this !

I have several extra Lyman seating stems.
At one time Lyman made Top Punches and Seating Stems for every bullet shape out of their molds.
Back in the Good Old Days. Back when I made a $1 an hour.
Cokes were a dime, Hersheys were a nickel and New Levis were $5 a pair. And there was only one style and one color and one fabric. Made in America.

This method can also be used when making your own seating stems in a lathe but don't machine the cavity to fit. I'll use a center drill to create the cavity and then use JB weld steel epoxy. The important part is to use a release agent or the bullet is attached to the stem...
