Sending Brass

Anyone here sent someone primed brass. What was involved.
My cousin is low on .223. He has H335, BULLETS, AND UNPRIMED BRASS.
Not primers. I have a ship load of primed processed .223 brass. Plus about a thou primers back.
I want to help him out.
He wants to trade me 200 93 grain sierra bullet and 200 sized brass, for 200 sized-primed brass.
Is it even legal to send primed brass thru the mail.

Thanks, need to check that out. He lives 300 miles out, so were trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to do splits on shipping or drive half way. We have conflicting schedules.
Both our more dependable vehicles get about 12 mpg.

Just read the rules. Looks like since I am not a business that I need to drive it to the nearest UPS hub. We have a ups store but it can not be shipped from there. So I probably would have to drive up north somewhere to ship it. Shoot I could end up driving 50 miles the opposite direction just to ship 300 miles.
May just tell him that if he wants them bad enough he will have to come visit, on a Sunday, then I will just give him 200 or so primers.

I just shipped two fifty cal ammo cans full of loaded ammo, from Boise to Superior, Wisconsin. Weight was @48 lbs. Cost was less then $30.
The ladies at the UPS shipping center helped me with the ORM-D sticker, and putting the two cans into one box. I wanted to just put the address labels on the cans, but they insisted that the shipment would be more secure, and less likely to suffer a "loss" in transit if I put them both into a box.
As to the UPS hub issue, my take on it is that it just needs to be "owned" by UPS, not necessarily a big distribution hub, so there might be something closer to you. Just call and ask!

I found you have to find a 'friendly' UPS hub for ORM-D shipping. Don't think the UPS Corp will do it. And the UPS "mail" stores won't here. BUt I have a local guy/I showed him the regs/have my ORM-D labels a re printed up nice. And he is happy to ship for me!

The local, privately owned, UPS Store won't take anything firearm related. I had issues when I tried to ship a scope back to the manufacturer for service.

Yup I have just checked into it while in town, at the UPS Store. They could pack it and label it for me for a fee, but.....I must still drive it to a Hub.
IF You ARE NOT A BUISNESS, IT MUST BE SHIPPED FROM A HUB. No other options are available from private to private. I was told only hubs have X-rays and it must be X-ray inspected before it can be put on a truck.
The closest hub is 23 miles from my house according to google maps.

Me thinks/suggests they are lying - because they don't want to fool with it! Been awhile, but my non-hub guy has shipped ammo for me.

They are also a private company, Ship for DHL, and fed except too, so I guess they can do what they want. Said they could do fed ex but it would be real expensive.
The closest ups to me is still that one hub.

Had to go up that way today so went the other 3 miles to the hub.
Sent about five pounds of primed brass.
Lady did not like how I had it packed. Did not have to. But she had time and extra materials so she helped me pack and mark it right. So now I know. So I ended up costing me $15 something.
Have not said anything to my cuz He will be real happy when he gets his present.
