Show me (or tell me) about your favorite 7X57 rifles!

I sure have developed a weakness for small ring Mauser sporters and the 7x57. Another followed me home from the gun show, pretty nicely done, the stock is plain, but nicely contoured, bolt turned down and clears the scope I put on it well. Buehler or similar low swing safety. Trigger seems to be original military, but someone must have worked on it, not bad at all for a hunting rifle. Still has the original military barrel and once I cleaned it a little, it's not perfect, but I think it'll do. Gonna load some cast bullet loads this evening and try to shoot it tomorrow.

AFter removing the front scope base, it's an Oviedo. I know this one will not be near the quality of the Berlin marked Lowe sporter I fell in love with and still am, but I am hoping this will be a nice shooter with cast like that one.

If I were to pick a bolt action battle rifle to go into harm's way with, it would be an SMLE.
I when I went through Army basic training in 1970, I owned a SMLE No. I Mk III* and an 1891 Argentine Mauser both with bayonets and had been reloading (using cast 311299 bullets) for both for several years. Compared to these 80 year old rifles, the M-16 was underwhelming.
