Show what kind of Bullets you cast

There could be a contest for Prettiest Bullets. But it wouldn't be fair.

CW would win hands down, or maybe molds down.
IDK? The Photo's that Rick has created are works of art, IMHO.
(not to take away from CW's beautiful/colorful projectiles.)

Myself, I like to take a photo "as is, where is", even before I've culled the bad ones from the batch. Kind of a shot of reality of that moment. It also gives the patron a chance to have a entertaining search for flaws, LOL.

Since I took time to make a post in this thread, I'll upload a photo from a year ago.
a plain based Ideal that came from Paul's stash...one day, I'm gonna shoot some of these, LOL.
This mold casts OK, but I recall getting raised sprues on the base...maybe I need to cast faster/hotter?

JonB,
If you're getting raised sprues ? Check fit of sprue plate, is the plate a bit warped ? not screwed down tight ? alloy too hot ?
From photo it looks like the sprue plate shows a gap between it and top of blocks. Or maybe trick of the light/angle of photo ?

Swipe the sprue plate back over the bases a time or two after the initial cut. I do this with high-powered rifle bullets to make certain the bases are absolutely flat.

If I have an old troublesome mould that leaves a bump on the sprue, I cut it, the align the sprue plate so the solid part of the plate without the hole is over the bump and tap it down with my casting mallet. Bump be gone!
