Well, not to be left out of the "snow" thread, I got about 6" in the driveway last night. So I know what I am going to be doing when I am done here.

Brad, I had just one snow-shoveling experience at our place in Colorado (after learning the hard way that you can't just stamp down the powder on the walkways/decks and expect to be able to stand up on the resulting ice sheet the next day). A week of that, and it was all powder snow when it fell, and I vowed not to put myself in that situation again.

Well Kevin, for the southerners who don’t know. There is a good reason why most folks up here have birthdays in October- January, snow storms.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Kevin,
The casting, shooting and fishing can be just as enjoyable, if not more so, without Arctic like weather. But, at least you aren't snowbound and experiencing cabin fever. ;)

In my experience the incidence of cabin fever is greatly reduced when the alternative is going out in that blasted sub-zero arctic hell that exists outside the cabin! Given the choice of the cabin or outside, the cabin suddenly looks pretty darn nice.

Geez, Ian. Powder just sweeps away. The current crop of white stuff here is really heavy, wet
and a broom won't touch it. Heavy to shovel. Fortunately for the big area, the JD 425 has
a 56" wide steel blade with hydraulics. Very helpful.Br

And Bret, that spot near the wood stove is really nice, too.

Ian, I am going to have to cancel the event. Snowfall is now expected to be around an inch. I don’t want anyone to feel cheated out of shoveling 5-8” minimum.

No fences. If they come in the summer I can find lots of projects.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Come on guys, I will even provide a shovel and my wife is excellent at “coaching”.

Word just in.....

My wife is willing to provide child care for those looking for the couple experience. Ian?

Folks, this offer won't last long. Hurry before all reservations are filled. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to learn a highly prized life skill. The first ten callers will receive a genuine vintage precious metal bar whose contents are traceable back to the origins of earth itself. These precious metal bars are marked with the mysterious word "Lyman", which is believed to be the ancient word for "true believer", because you have demonstrated your rare capacity to believe anything.

Oh, we are getting that this weekend. Low around -10 Saturday night. Add the wind and it will feel like closer to -25.
