Wife and I celebrated our 45th today by going out for Chinese for supper. Crab rangoon, wonton soup and the best darned egg rolls in town. (The secret to their egg rolls is they add peanut butter to the filling.) Filling without being too heavy, very nice break from the day's routine.

We celebrated by going to our favorite locally owned Italian place. We usually go Friday nights but I will be out of town. They heard it was our anniversary so the brought us dessert and a check marked “no charge Happy Anniversary”.

Amazing, Brad. You must go there a lot. Congrats to Brad and Keith, making it work for a long time
is a good thing.
We were married in March of '76, just a bit behind Keith.

No wedding photos, uploaded, on my computer. I'll ask Cindy, if there are any on hers, when she gets back from her Missouri kayaking trip.

I went by the NEW Gander store. Parking lot was full. I had to investigate. The store is closing so everything is 40% off. I was saving for a rainy day. Which happened today.

If I remember correctly, Cabela's bought Gander Mountain more than a few years ago.
Now, Bass Pro Shops owns Cabela's.
So, a bit of corporate upsizing followed by a bit of corporate downsizing?

Bella decided to join her.

They each caught a fish.

Tizzie's 20 1/2" Hybrid, that Rick reeled in.

Bella's 23" Striper, that I reeled in.

Yes, I forgot that Gander Mountain (and Overton's) is now owned by Camping World, after it filed for another bankruptcy, but had been owned by Cabela's.

Visited HMS Warrior today. They had a new type of rifled breech loading cannon. A docent
says that they had problems because the lead covering over the cylindrical shells would leave a lead
coating on the barrels. After a number of shots, he says the lead would cause pressure problems,
and accuracy problems. Called Armstrong guns, odd hollow screw and wedge block breeching
system.

Sounds like they needed a lube groove and some good lube. If I only had a time machine.....

Wife and I hit 45 years a couple weeks ago. Thought about doing like a coworker back when told me. Take her to 7-11 anger her a big gulp then drive through the alley behind sonic and let her smell the hamburgers.
Thought better of it and took her to a restaurant

that's not right.
you gotta get a corndog and share it with everyone in the truck starting on your side and going around the back seat.
:p

so I got up this morning to take the Bronco over to the mechanic that put the engine in and had him check it all out and give it it's first lube and oil change since we put it in.
he says everything checks out fine, and I think he might have done some minor adjustments on it.
Littlegirl drove it home and said nuthin about it but I noticed it started and sounded a bit different.

had to scrape some ice off the windows before I left this morning.
didn't even make 90 days between freezes this year.
guess it's about time to blow out the sprinklers... siiiigh.

oh.
and no I don't want to hear about it being 90+ degrees where you are, I'm perfectly happy with 60 being our high, it'll warm up some for a bit here pretty soon.
