Glocks I can do without. But CORNBREAD?? NO WAY! Gotta have cornbread.

Sorry no more Cornbread. Buried today between the two trees outside the Sheriffs office window.

Sheriff's news release stated that Cornbread was pretty famous for all the newspaper articles about him over the years so I figured everyone would know who Cornbread is was. Cornbread was the stray cat that adopted the Sheriff's administration offices some years ago and has happily lived there ever since. As a side note there hasn't been a mouse spotted around the offices since the day Cornbread arrived. Also, Cornbread is getting his very own marble grave marker made. No indication of what Cornbread died of.

So as you can see, the Sheriff's office here has things to contend with that are actually important unlike some Sheriff's.

BTW . . . How did Cornbread get his name? Cornbread is served for lunch 7 days a week at the County jail. So Al, now you know where to get it. ;)

Priorities. Gotcha.

I still like cornbread--just sayin'. I'll try Marie Callendar's rather than the local Bastille, if you don't mind.

Found out this morning that the truck and automotive service industries are considered "essential" so we're not shutting down. Might not have anything to do in a few days but still have to be there.

Lube guy came to work with laryngitis symptoms, no idea what his deal is (likely oak allergies)....but he took off Friday and yesterday because his wife was in the hospital with pneumonia. They sent her home yesterday. The guy's a slob and has zero concept of personal space much less hygiene so after he made his rounds and contaminated the shop from end to end a bunch of us stormed the service manager's office and demanded the guy be sent home. Probably too late if he was contagious with something. I'm still pissed off that this was allowed to happen.

Considering the number of closed businesses, defense, public and governmental facilities, and the very welcome lack of tourists (at least for my wife and me), there are still a lot of people out and about. I've a feeling that most of them think themselves too important to not heed the health warnings and above following the governor's orders.

I should be getting a “get out of jail free” letter today in case of curfew.
Strangely, I'm supposed to be getting one as well. But not from Walgreens. We've been informed that the Truck Shop is an essential business because of its role in interstate and intercity commerce. We'll see how this pans out, but it looks like vehicle repair shops are going to be exempted. We have our Office Manager pursuing this avenue. The information came from a solid source. At this time, there are no known plans to isolate the populace of Camelot. We do have three confirmed cases of the virus in our county, Brads areas has a total of 45 so far across two Nebraska counties. https://www.klkntv.com/coronavirus-breakdown-number-of-cases-by-counties-in-nebraska/

Son in Houston sells parts/stuff to auto dealers. Houston to Dallas. Says only one is closed and he is running his regular route...

fwiw - all this arbitrary 'what is/isn't essential' crap, and local yocals making the determination spooks the snot out of me. A simple 'decree' and rights and businesses and livelyhoods, etc are gone with the stroke of a pen. I am NOT liking this at all...

TPTB had rather the populace be stoned and happy than armed and paranoid. I won't get started on my opinions about dope but I can see the silver lining right now. I know personally about half a dozen people who compulsively went out and bought their first gun last week, people who are generally anti and have no firearms experience, safety training, nothing. THAT scares me.

Yep Ian. Guys from all over the country on a trappers forum saying ammo is about wiped out. All the common pistol gone, but some .22 left. Did you get the email from Midway saying they are like 8 days behind on shipping! Not even taking back orders on some products.

Worked on shelves in the wifes shop today and moved a stack of already stained 8" t&g to my trailer, that was suppose to go on the walls of her shop. Loaded another 100 .243 after dinner. Too wet and soggy to do anything in the driveway. Starting to thaw out but the ground isn't bubbling yet. Forecast is for mid 40's next week, and .2" of rain overnight. Nothing melts snow like rain. There are going to be a bunch of flooded basements and drain fields this spring. Wife is tending tomato plants in the house. She came outside and raked mud and leaves for about an hour! Finally figured out it was a tad early yet. LOL Poor thing has a bad case of cabin fever this year, it's been a long winter.

Found a pile of wolf crap in my north field where I run my dogs this morning. My males were lined up on both sides marking it, and my old female went about 5 feet away and left her calling card.

NCIS is overwhelmed right now anyway.
you can forget phoning in, you better be computer accessed if you want to even try, most of those are being ignored and many customers are given their gun after the mandated 5 days without a decision from the fed's.
one of my buddies that owns a gun store gave me the 411 on that.
many of his left leaning new customers are under the impression they can just get on gunbroker or the like and order themselves a handgun.
he just gives them a wave and a hearty see you tomorrow as they walk out.

okay this is getting serious.
I was talking to the bakery manager at the local grocery store and they are not able to order any more pre-made cakes.
so when they are gone they are gone for the foreseeable future.

Was in Walgreen's today and they had TP. What the hey, thought that was the big thing, everybody sold out of it and folks dying for a lack of. Well there it was, right on the shelves like nobody wanted any. Go figure huh?

She and sister are on the phone every morning so far. Going stir crazy so she wants a Braum's yogurt yesterday. Eat it in the car - sit down is closed. So stop at Lowes, open as usual - got 2 pieces of St. Augustine to patch the front yard.
Got 2nd census letter yesterday so guess I'll go online.

Day two of captivity:
Sunshine today! It's drying out a little blt. We've had rain for the last 10 days or so.
I may try to get some yard work done today.
It's suppose to start raining again Saturday.
I do need to cast and PC some more 9mm. I've got Mihec's 124 penta point ( weighs about 127 gr.), but haven't worked up a good load for it yet.
With the range closed, I won't be able to.
In a pinch, I could just load it over 4.0 gr. of Red Dot or 5.0 gr. of Unique, but those are probably just safe plinker loads and not good, performance loads tailored for my guns.
Trying not to go out.
My daughter runs a medical lab for one of the local major hospitals. She stopped at the store on the way home from work and an old guy got in her face for buying groceries. He said she should leave the groceries for the older folk that needed them. She said she worked at a hospital and needed to stay healthy, otherwise, there would be no one to care for him if he got sick. That shut him up.

I ordered a couple of "Little Dandy" rotors from Midsouth. They had a warning that shipping was slow due to overwhelming demand when I ordered. They are usually very prompt but it took 2 days for them to acknowledge my order and another 5 before I got a shipping notice.

She was going to the store to get a flyer, fear of Huwan flu on paper so went walking again. Got the new bolster table to replace the one the dog chewed, of course from China so 'wash your hands after unpacking' orders. Lady, turn OFF the radio and quit pacing the floor! Arguing about NYC hosp treating Huwan flu with vitamin C. Any results yet? Nope. All the doc visits are off, shucks.
