I found out, many years ago, that if I find a plumbing problem-----I need to---CALL THE GUY! For me, it dose not matter how small or how simple a plumbing job appears, I am going to have major trouble if I attempt to fix it myself.

'Tis truly written: "Before setting off to plumbing, buy at least twice as many supplies and parts as you think you'll need. And a couple of rolls of duct tape".

First day back at work for me, just catching up on on-line training and doing half days because my left eye can't take any more continuous screen time than that. HR said they need a release to work note from my surgeon before turning me loose anyway. May go at it full time next week if I feel up to it, my manager doesn't want me to rush it but there's only one way to get back in shape and that's to start swinging.

Sitting here finishing lunch and trying to shoot the four big axis does at my water trough with my camera.

I have a heavy handed wife and son so I have gotten good at replacing anything that turns. Guess I am bless with a good mechanical inclination.
I can usually get thing fixed way cheaper then i could pay someone and often better.
My taboo thing is roofing and framing. My roof repairs always leak more when I am done, and my carpentry looks like it came out of a Dr. Sues Book. Or takes my wasting a lot and time and wood. Doing and redoing, before I get it right.

Got the second coat of linseed on my wife's gun stock. It is going to turn out really nice. Got her talked out of painting it and going with a wrap, after it sits a couple months, to cure. The wrap can be taken off later and the linseed polished back up.

Good to see your are back working a bit. Seems the outcome could have been a lot worse, or held you back a lot longer. Praying for continuing recovery.

Bought a set of Lee Shaver sight inserts, for the Buffalo Rifle. I prefer a post-and-ball and am finding Lyman's are a bit too course.
For some reason, the trio of the rear tang, a front aperture, and the target's bull are one too many circles for my slow brain to analyze. Perhaps more practice would help.

The cut-down Argentine also has a Lyman 17A front sight, so I'm hoping that the Shaver card will have something for it, too.

Had the budget buy Stevens 620 out today with the boy. Drilled and added a bit of lead to the butt stock. Took the little kick it had with full loads, right out of it.
First time my son shot a 12 gauge.
First time either of us ever slam fired. What a blast slam firing on attacking 2 liters, one in the chamber, 5 pumps 6 seconds 6 dead Shasta bottles!!.
Put some turkey shot thru it patterns really well.
Was going to cut it down, but think it is just going to be a dedicated range blaster for #4 buck and a turkey gun.

Did more splitting and stacking today. Did two partial trailers again, but for some reason, it was much more taxing on the body and cardio...it is a little warmer today, so maybe that's why?

What Mitty just said, Ian.

Got the stray tools wrapped and ready to ship.......and forgot part of Ian's order. Too much STUFF under way all at once, AUGH! That will follow, Ian--not enough small FRBs on hand. Cuss words (HERE).

I used to be able to run 6-8 cases in my head at one time, and not scramble things or trip up. Now--in my dotage--if Marie runs the vacuum while the painters are wrapping up for the day I'll get distracted and either bite my tongue or stumble over a step-up. This "Getting old" bit is not for the faint of heart.

Brought home a BUNCH of loaded ammo from Paul today. He has lots more left, including 2 mortar boxes of just 38/357. He figures 3-4 K rounds of just 38/357. I will likely end up with 7-10 K rounds of ammo.
Anyone want to help me shoot some?

Finished building the closet at the front door. Brand new from framing to trim and paint. Tomorrow will fit a door into an existing closet that has used a bed sheet for a door for 25 or 26 years.
