Leaves fall for a reason. Many critters need leaf litter as part of their life cycle to over Winter. We just leave, (pun intended), them where they fall.

Got a new mower this past summer and it's a high vac thing and I ran over 2 acres of leaves mowing in one direction to tease the remains to one area. Most of the byproduct was chopped finely enough that it fell out of the mix and becomes somewhat of a fertilizer for next year.

Emmett,
Take care of yourself and the family.

About the middle of last December, my sister and her husband went on a Caribbean cruise, leaving and returning from a port in Florida. Back home they both came down with flu-like symptoms. Nothing more was thought of it till the Chinese flu arrived on the scene, and I told her, then, that was what they had.
Wonder of wonders, it's been confirmed that Americans started getting it back in December.

Lying Chinese, lying media, lying "scientists", lying and hypocritical government officials.

Today I tore down my 450 Bushmaster...

I assembled the upper some many months back. Had some feed issues folower related. Fixed that. Then I knew I was shooting powders inappropriate for a gas gun. (I have a bolt as well) But I cracked a new box of 450 BLK250g. It cycled fine.
Following month. I worked on a couple loads and discovered the barrel liked the 200g best. So I loaded a ladder and found a load. It functioned fine. I fired some subs some lead then some 250's... Function issues. Grrr

I figured maybe the lead a d gas sysm?!?!?

Well it has sat for months and today I tore it down. I expected to find gad blocked had moved or lead in gas tube.... I found NOTHING... grrrr. Gas tube clear. Block perfectly aligned. No movement in gas block. Tore down bcg.... Nothing. The seals good, key staked and solid. Barrel clear. I did find comp loose... Cleaned and te Locktited...

So what??? Mag problem??? Im stumped.

Gonna try again Tomorrow. I have only a few factory loded remaining. Im gonna go load up ten or so just middle road loads for fubctjon with FTX bullets.

Raked leaves. Joy.
We just mulch them into dust! I use a Troybilt riding mower with mulcher and my son uses the big zero turn with mulching door.
Sort of fun every fall ( but it is work over 4 acres) When the mulch areas get too thick I rake and compost them otherwise if they are dry ( white oak) the end up in 1/4 inch pieces that disappear into the soil

Well, deer season is over, just started yesterday. Took a doe with the 38-55 and 250 grain cast @1450 fps. Today I worked some at my daughters jewelry store and went to a Dr. appointment before lunch. After lunch the rain stopped enough that I decided to go ahead and start hauling off the limbs and smaller chunks of trunk from a walnut I had a pro fell that was between my house and shop yesterday. Took several loads on the utility trailer and some of the chunks were bigger than I should of been lifting these days. Got it all cleaned up except the main trunk and settled back in my chair to rest. With the break in the weather it looked like an ideal time to sit in a stand but I was worn out. Finally greed overcame common sense, so I grabbed a rifle and headed out. Wasn't long before a doe and medium sized 8 point came out, I decided that as tired as I was it would take a pretty good buck to get me to pull the trigger. Pretty soon there were 8 does in the wheat that had been no-tilled into a corn field. I was thinking it funny that the 8 point was ignoring the does, just filling his belly, when a nice 10 point jumped the fence and joined him. No aggression toward the buck or does, just feeding hard. I debated a little bit about whether I really wanted to dress a buck after all the work on the tree, but went ahead and pulled the trigger.
M70 Fwt(South Carolina made), VxIII 2.5-8, 7-08, 139 Hornady Interlock sp dropped him in his tracks.

By the time I got him quartered and in a cooler I was really beat.
That makes 3 this year, a doe in early muzzleloader season(50 cal TC New Englander with patched round ball), the doe with the 38-55 and this buck. I could still buy 2 more doe tags, but this will make plenty of meat for us till next fall. Time for bed!

that interlock in the Mauser and 7-08 just seems to be the best deer combination I've ever seen out to about 250yds.
it has always just gone in, messed stuff up, then made a modest 50 cent piece size hole on it's way out.

He was kind of ganted up from the rut, but will make plenty of burger. Thought he was wider than it turned out, 18"+ inside spread. i keep several cameras out several months of the year and this one has been the biggest both the last two years. I've only got a couple pictures of him the last 2 months. Our buck quality has really dropped off the last 5 years or so, state is selling too many tags and it's showing. I've taken several better than this one, up to 176" but haven't seen anything better in several years.

I really like the Interlocks in several calibers, too bad so many of them have been discontinued. Really miss the 25 cal 100 gr version, the ones I have left get used very sparingly.

yeah,, first the 120's when I started using them in a couple of rifles.
then the 100's [why?] the 100 was probably the best all around 25 cal. bullet available.
thankfully I have enough of both to last me forever, unless I start burning them up shooting holes in paper for some reason.

Walter once tried that. He tried to size a 35 down to 32. Oddly Jim tried to size a 32 to 35.
One had bullets all over the floor, the other damn near ripped the press off the bench.

Me? I just got the sizers switched up in mailing them?
