Sounds like a bad Meniscus tear. Ice and knee wrap should get you to the Doctor’s office.

I made a Dr appt this morning, they did some xrays...first time my knees have been xray'd. Not much cartilage left, torn meniscus is suspected in Right knee. They gave me, my first shot of cortisone. The Left knee looks far worse, but currently there is no pain there, so they did nothing about that...It's probably just a matter of time before I am needing a couple new knees?

Sounds like you're due for knees now. The longer you wait, the worse it is. If your knees are shot, you can't get much exercise, and the health domino effect starts taking off.

I've always been overweight and have tried to lose weight many times (moslty unsuccessfully, meaning I gain any loses back, plus a few extra lbs) over the years, but I've always been fairly active...If my activity declines, I am sure your "health domino effect" is a likely correct prediction :(

Must be the knee thing is spreading. I was moving sheep fence today and did something, not sure what. Left knee has been giving me problems since I tore or at least it felt like a tear getting up from under a truck. Can't hardly walk right now.

That ought to soak up some vibrations. Pretty impressive when a vise comes with its own serialized machine tag.

Owning nice pieces of equipment is just one of my vices.......

Blackthorn, It might be a Canadian thing, both my pensions revert to single rate if my wife goes first. Filed in 2017.
I watched the wind blow today. A storm is coming in and at 8 AM it was 30 mph outside. I painted a couple of bookcases I have been working on for the basement den. Still waiting on my carpenter to trim and set doors.

I would have taken quite a hit if I opted for the premature death/revert to single beneficiary option.
Mrs. smokeywolf is nearly 20 years my junior, but will continue to receive the pension payment and full medical w/o premium or deductible, for the rest of her life.

We had several choices when I retired from the state. I took the one where my wife gets half my retirement if I go first, which will surely be the case I'd say. In retrospect, I'd have been better off taking the larger sum and buying a term policy for a substantial amount. Of course, then you're putting your trust in an insurance company, not my favorite thing to do. They've certainly done shady things before.

Winterized the boat and got it ready to put away for the winter. The boat has a I/O drive system. What a PIA. You couldn't give me another boat with a I/O . Will do the trailer tomorrow and get it put away.

Finally got to shoot the Dragoon , ive had it north of 1.5 yr .
Shot the 1917 , XD 40 , some Minie balls in the Frontier rifle , Shot dad's 51' Colts 44 , had what amounted to his memorial , passed a duck/deer camp bottle of blackberry brandy around the fire when the shooting was done .

Some www friends came for the weekend that Dad had spent a little time with years past to shoot up the back yard and have a drink of brandy .
They brought me some moulds to do whatever with , I may have to buy a 500 S&W or trade a 45 cal 22" pistol blank for a .510 or .408 blank ....... probably be better off to re-home the 50-450 , 50-515 and Saeco #640 .
Along with moulds came 7 sets of handles .
My book says I have a 358495 WC @147 gr but I'd have sworn it was a 358432 ..... I have 1 each now I guess . Nice day in spite of the rain , and shooting between showers . I think Dad would approve .

My brother has a henry big boy steel 45 colt lever gun. He bought a Lee six cavity 452 round flat nose six cavity mold.
I cast up about 400 of those tonight and I am in the process of powder coating them. I might try to run some of these through my Cimmeron single action Army clone as well.

A house I have been working on for my son was broken into and I lost over $5000.00 worth of tools. Chop saws, HVLP paint spray setups, nail guns, 13" DeWalt thickness planer, the list goes on. About 20 items in all. Lesson learned, don't leave all of your tools in one place, especially one that isn't lived in yet. In my 67 years in this town this is the first time I have had anything stolen so I guess you get complacent. It was locked, but that just slowed things down a bit.

Gun show today. I picked up an unopened # of each: Green dot, IMR 4227, and RL-7 for $18 a pound and 6 boxes of new Winchester brand .338 mag brass for $5 a box. I was happy about that. Capped off kind of a downer week!

I hear ya MikeN.

Have had several of our jobsites broken into and lost equipment and tools. And these are high $$$ houses/neighborhoods. To be brutally honest, have less "big" trouble working in the hoods. In the first example,we have to rely on official respondents and protocol. In low resource areas, the perps have more fear getting caught..... and delt with, skipping all the formalities.

An old friend of mine had a skid loader stolen.A few months go by and someone recognized it.... tells my bud where it was.He calls the law and gets it back.Presses charges and goes to court. The blankety blank judge literally tells my friend to suck it up and forget about it,because he got it back.... and after all, he's "well off" and what's it gonna prove?

Been hobbling around on that bad knee. Got a final count on round bales- 204. I thought it was more than that. I figure 200 is the bare minimum to get through a normal winter. We'll be 2 horses and a lot of sheep lighter this winter, so maybe we'll be okay. got a lot more squares int he barn this year than last. Probably drag out the death trap chopper and get some green chop in for the barn. Wish I dared try haylage, but listeriosis (sp) is a very real fear. Plus it's all hand unloading, and climbing a silo twice a day and forking out silage is looking more and more challenging.

Judges that don't do anything when you ctch a bad guy. Yeah, had my fill of them, and the ones that go overboard the other way to make a name for themselves over a nothing case.

Watching it snow. Yes, snow. In mid October. Forecast to get a hard freeze overnight.

What the hell?

After the first decent cold snap a couple days ago, I dug out the lead furnace and poured about 40 lbs of Lee 452-200RF boolets. Should hold me for a while. Ran about half of them through theold Herter's sizer/luber with Ben's Red while listening for the phone. Son and Son-in-law are on a mountain in Colorado elk hunting. Got a call late last night, Son got a 5x5 with his 300 H&H, 180 Partition. Going to size/lube a few more today while the 1st batch dries with a light coat of original recepie BLL. Hoping the Son-in-Law gets one today, would make him 6 out of 7 years. Most of those years he was the only one to even see an elk.

sounds like that cold air mass pushed our last two storms east and south some.
Yah, thanks.

Rick, we shouldn’t be frozen for a few weeks or more.

I sure hope this isn’t an indicator of what winter has in store for us.
