probably just works in your system.
I like the RCBS 30-150 fngc just because it shoots well, casts easy, the checks just drop on the shank and they push through the sizer like a champ.

There is MUCH to be said for tractable moulds and castings.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Nothing wrong at all with using something you like.

Got a bit of a disappointment last night. I'd had a decent oiled cotton rain coat for several years, an Australian modeled job made in some sweat shop no doubt. But it worked boys, it just plain worked. Problem was once you put a tiny rip in it it is only a matter of time before it lets go And half the jacket is hanging in the breeze. Very light cotton. So I determined to get something more like the British wear, Barbour or something like that. I shopped Ebay for several months and finally found what I thought would be perfect at a great price. It got here yesterday. Yupper, it's just about what I wanted and fit's good. Problem is the nice people selling it WASHED IT! It didn't feel right to me so I flicked some water on it. Soaks it up like a sponge! So now I'm going to learn how to "re-proof" a coat I guess.

Supposed to have a couple of nice days here and then a cloudier but still decent rest of the week. Hope to get some stuff done. Board meeting tonite, budget and hiring. Gonna be a late one I imagine.

Good luck Bret on the coat, recoat. Don't think it's that hard. I looked into it when researching about the same scenario. The used Ebay coat I got for 25$ was,as new and good to go. Just looked into it,"in case"?

Busy day. Furniture and household goods arrived. Might not be sleeping on cots tonight.

EDIT: My internet connection is problematic right now. This was written yesterday.

Freebullet...

Just talkin here, not directed at anyone, food for thought is all...

100 year old bricks, wood siding, and sheet metal ducts all have value in today's mkt as a,still viable building product...

Compare that with say, anyone wanting used vinyl siding,OSB,and ductboard?

Above market driven, paint a target on the consumer's back.... and most importantly, have them vehemently defend it,is how.......

I get 5k$ pieces of antique "case" furniture for free from folks with empty IKEA boxes in their driveways. Got my freeby Thos. Moser 5 drawer chest deal done. Just have to go pick it up.

I have a too much family stuff problem . None of it is particularly valuable but it was hands on used by my great great great whatever .
Im an only my Mom and her sister split the down line and Mom got the memories and furniture and Aunt Honey got the money . I lucked into a few odds and ends , bones after the vultchers got done really . Stuff nobody wanted . Now 100 yr old fly rods , I need to make a trip to Kentucky and Reelfoot lakes soon and swing by The Moore's for a new crappie killer just so I can cast a couple of rods where my hands and greats did .

Gotta love the guy that pays for barn wood and metal when the goal is to tear down the barn before it kills someone . I'm always surprised here when someone offers to pay to haul off firewood . I'd settle for using their splitter and my saw to make it firewood on their place for 50-60 a cord or haul away the stuff and sell it for $150 a cord ...... I guess if they want to pay me on both ends it's ok too .

gonna be heading down to SLC here in a couple of hours, with Littlegirl and the Boy.
I figure the south wind should be picking up about 1 or so and that will be the perfect time to drive straight into it.

2 more days until the deer hunt starts.
I took a little walk up the next draw over from the one I have been watching last night, but left the shotgun behind so I wouldn't be tempted to use it just in case.
of course I had a nice easy going away shot on a big male forest grouse right on top of the open ridge just to remind me how much the grouse hate me.
it would have made a pretty nice dinner though.

I did find a nice trail up about where I expected to and it had a lot of newer tracks on it going back and forth.
I just don't know when or why they are using it other than it cuts in between some stands of pine trees and isn't visible from the road down below.
I don't know about hunting in this draw though, your lucky to see 50yds in any direction and I'd have to carry a deer out piece by piece if I did get one in there.

oh well that's Thursday's problem.
I guess I'm gonna stop in and see my mom and dad for a bit then we are going to dinner and a concert,, i'll be lucky to be home by 1am.

Didn't say we'd be sleeping on a mattress. Box springs and a memory foam mattress topper. Ordered a foam mattress over the internet; supposed to arrive Monday or Tuesday of next week.

My back could sure use some some comfort. Moved an old freezer from the basement pantry to the detached garage yesterday. Put old fridge in its place in pantry. Had to drag the Wells Fargo safe back from the garage door a little bit.

Marie and I have become the end-recipients of a lot of inherited stuff. Thankfully, most of it has no emotional "hooks" in it for us, so passing it along to Salvation Army causes us little stress. Still, WE HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF. I need to say "NO" to family members that bring things over to us (for some reason....) because they can't bear to sell it or take it to Salvation Army themselves. Emotional hooks, and I guess mine are barbless.

Moving soon, methinks. No firm info on "where" yet, but Marie is sending out her nursing school apps and transcripts today.

Great news if there is a state line involved. There is a state line being crossed right? :headscratch:

Cool sunny day today so I got a bunch of the large tree branches cut up and stacked from everthing I cut down this weekend.. Some were "shade master" locust... pretty big long branches that made mowing the yard out the front a pain! ( Over the years I Took a number of good hits in the head when cutting under them!
It sits on a hill but the branches seem to follow the grade instead of growing upright. Dang that wood is heavy to carry.

Harvested and fire roasted what I think is the last of the Big Jim chillies. I will peel and cut these up and freeze for pots of Green chile over the winter! Harvested a bunch of catnip that I hung to dry in my basement....a treat for the kitties over the winter and Powder coated and sized all the bullets I cast yesterday!
Everything on my Tuesday to do list! I guess it was a productive day.
Now I'm thinking about making some chicken Pad Thai for supper! ( back on the Thai food kick ....but the sodium is not my friend so I limit it to the lowest amount)

Try it when you have an enormous barn that looks positively empty to your relatives. I have at least 5 families worth of stuff in my barn.

Fiver, you nearly had a visitor this evening. My son is working in Logan this week prepping for a new line in the cheese plant. Sent me a text a while ago with a Muley doe, said he was taking a drive after work looking at wildlife. Next pic I got was downtown Soda Springs. Guess he’s making a loop around to Montpelier and back to Logan

Not anytime soon, at least. Medical care access has to be our #1 priority, and I don't like the shifty answers I get from our insurers and their brokers concerning the out-of-state coverage. We got a look-see at those gaps when we lived in Ridgecrest from 2008-2014. Big PITA. Likeliest scenario is a move to a gun-friendlier part of CA, like Indio/Palm Desert. The Los Angeles/Hollywood funk only shows up on weekends from Jan-Apr, then the heat runs them off.

To the choir... 'cept my bricks are 75 yr old & go to the roof, so I don't need siding. ;)

dang OlE 270 I woulda like to have met up with him.

let him know we are supposed to have snow rolling through here today/tomorrow some time.
6"s worth is what everyone is saying.
Logan is probably not off the list of places to receive some.
