Spent a few minutes with a board member this afternoon late . Spent most of the day playing with the kids and grands in a river I don't know the name of , but it was a nice stretch we were on . Quite tired , burned , dried up , probably won't be able to pickup me arms in the morning .

I found some data for an out of print powder I got for a very good price . Thank you sir . Looks like that Scott 1250 will be pretty good in 9mm . It appears to be looking at pistol data , at a glance , like it's Unique one gr light for the same results , looks like it runs 5-7gr light in 1-1/8oz 12 ga .
25,000 gr÷4.5gr/charge in a 9mm 125gr ..... Looks like 5,555 rounds . Yeah that'll hold me for a minute .
Good day all in all .

Had a chance to get an old 80's Versum re loader from one of the truckers that comes thru here, for $100. Passed it up, because I just do not know a lot about them, and it was for 10 gauge, anyway. I have 410,20 and 12. Besides I am a little short this week.

Bought a brick each of large rifle and large pistol primers, and a pound of H335, from the local gun store. There's a brick of each left, but was short the cash. If they are there next week I'll probably buy them.

The Blackhawk .45 ACP/.45 Colt combination remains unobtainium.

I finished all the firewood split/stack this morning. I clean up my mess in the driveway and haul the splinters and debris from the hydraulic wood splitter to the city compost site. Guess what, I discover a bunch of small logs out there, bark looks like Ash, but the core is red like Cedar. The wood is definitely a hardwood, and the logs are dry, most likely from a standing dead tree, with some bark coming off. I have no idea what the wood is? but I hauled them home and cut them to woodstove length...maybe I'll split them tomorrow?

Walnut maybe?
Loaded some more #00 buck today while the glass guy put the windshield in the Highlander, in our driveway. My daughter brought the new baby and her 4 year old daughter over for a couple hours. Malia loves grandpa's dogs, and our ritual is to feed them way too many dog biscuits, much to their delight, then to the pond and swing set. Grandma was hogging the baby again.

I guess I'll have to post a couple photos of the red core wood.

It's definitely not Northern Red Oak....I've cut cords of that and know it well.

It's not the "common to my area" Black Walnut, I've cut plenty of that, Black Walnut is a fairly soft wood compared to Ash and whatever this red stuff is? also I'm not sure if any other walnut tree grows in MN?...but maybe?

I don't think I've ever seen/cut a Red bud tree. I googled Red Bud Bark images. The first 10 or so images vary greatly, one or two of those 10 do look similar to my red core wood.

My first thought on Lilac ..."bushes", very common here, but I've never seen wood this large on them.
my second though, I've never cut a Japanese Lilac tree, which get more than large enough and I do know they are grown here, there are a few in my neighborhood. I'll have to check out the bark on those. I googled the bark, doesn't look like it at all.

I'll post photos later...

Finally got in to see a surgeon to remove the sqaumis from my skull. Last guy quit. Had gall bladder removed the day skull was to get worked on, they rescheduled, then cancelled (new guy in Sept), took a week to get pics transferred to new guy. Got bored and cast some for the 40sw. Walk the dog, done for the day. Cardio guy is setting me up for another cat scan. Gimme a break!

Staying healthy gets to be a full-time job sometimes, hang in there, Popper! So you got the cancer removed? That stuff grows like a wildfire, seen Dad go thought it half a dozen times, some pretty bad but fortunately he doesn't screw around with it. Bad thing is by the time it shows on the surface it might have roots an inch deep.

Best wishes, Popper.

Wednesday, after 14 months of going through the frustration of finding a new primary care doc, we found a keeper. Hopefully. Our longtime and friendly doc retired, our next choice saw us each one time and moved to wherever it was his wife preferred to be, the next guy kept cancelling appointments, then wanted to do them via some sort of video hocus-pocus, so we fired him in no short order.

There was a time when my doc was older than my parents. Now, he is younger than my son. Don't know what it means, other than the rising of the sun may be involved.

Nope, next week. Ct is to check the artery that was giving Tia's last year. Flow check on the leg artery in Oct. How is the neck going Ian? I gripe but got a friend with (blood cancer) that SIL passed from few years back. Nasty stuff.

Good, you don't want to give that squamous stuff any time. The counter girl that stepped up and took over my previous job at the truck shop had her gall bladder removed a couple months ago, she's doing well now and has lost a lot of weight with the required diet change pre and post surgery, we commiserated about missing hamburgers, guacamole, and barbecue. I assume you're dealing with a low-fat regimen as well? I did something I shouldn't have and pulled something in my neck yesterday evening, have had a bad a knot ever since when I try to swallow anything and that worries me (thinking I blew another hole in my thoraccic duct and have a big fluid bubble in my neck) but it's probably just scar tissue and neck organs still trying to reach equilibrium. Hospital bag got re-packed for the E.R. but not going unless it gets significantly worse. Not complaining though, I saw a thin, ancient man at the gas station the other day wearing a WWII Navy ball cap and he had a lot of his neck tissue/muscles/tendons missing, one eye sunken and fixed, and couldn't turn his head, I got off EASY.

Poignant post Ian . There are so many worse off , by life events and where they were taken by them .

On a wholly lighter note I've done about 10,000 sparkplugs from the ball clip Champion 26(?) And F11s to iridium $60 ea and I've never seen one do this without a flaw in the ceramic .

That is a hard carbon arc burn down the and a fan out at the bottom of the boot . It's a platinum Autolight plug that probably has about 100 k on it , I got the vehicle at 265 k and have run it on up to 321 k with the 1000 mile sprint this week to San Antonio and back .
I fought the break down , above about 1950 rpm it went away mostly , all the way down and replaced the plugs there .

Had a good trip over all . Unfortunately back at home the tension is back and I can't wait to go to work for 12 hours . The cat is happy to see me so that's something . I'm sure the goats missed us .

Ian I'm looking forward to a better planned lunch event next time .
