OK, NORTH of Fairbanks. Winter a couple weeks early..... must be caused
by global warming.

Yikes, that is really out there. Past Fox Spring?
Do you have power nowdays? Water?

I was amazed when I visited, admittedly many years ago, and found that the power
grid didn't go far outside of Fairbanks at all and most folks out there went to Fox
Spring to get water in jugs and small tanks. I presume things have advanced over
the last 35 years or so. In the late 70s, if you got 20 miles outside of Fairbanks you
were pretty much on your own in the winter, at least that was the story being told to
us 'lower 48 types' by the locals. Maybe they were jazzing it up for effect, but it sounded
real and the line of folks getting water at Fox Spring was sure real.

So you are used to 10 months of winter and 2 of spring.

I used to live way down South in Tazlina AK, but these days am out toward Murphy Dome, NW of Fairbanks. I have Power, but no water (yes, I haul my water in 5 gal jugs from town, or Fox Spring). 10 months of winter is a gross exaggeration tho; it's really only 8 months of winter....:)

I have some family members living in Aniak, I have visited them. Also, I have friends that lived in Barrow. They are retired and moved to Fairbanks or Anchorage? but still visit Barrow, in fact a recent FB post of his, indicated he was there last week.
