Had the scary experience of going to Wegman's Super market this morning at 8 am for "Old People Hour" First off on the car drive there I only saw 3 cars on the road! When I got there there were less then 20 cars in the parking lot which is always filled! Then when I went in everyone had face masks , except the employees. ( Right there I knew I should have one) All in all total time in the store was 15 minutes! Hope I will survive

I got a call from a friend, to pickup some leftover roast turkey...they are always thinking of me. I go pick it up, there is a camper setup in their yard. Their adult daughter is quarantined in there. I guess she was exposed to someone with Covid19, and she has developed symptoms...and waiting for a test. Now I'm wondering if I should eat this turkey, or even touch it?

We have discovered ordering groceries on line from Wal-Mart. First time Monday and it worked. Ordered on line, set the date to pick them up, they told me what time, they texted when the order was filled and we said we were on the way. Pulled into the parking lot to the reserved pickup spot and called the number on the sign, told them who I was and what stall I was in. In just a few minutes a young person brought them out, loaded them in the back of the pickup, thanked us and we went home. The produce they picked out was top notch and we couldn't be happier. Of course there are a few items the hoarders deplete but the store can't help that. We'll use this service from now on.

Cindy's been using it for quite some time. The other day we received an email from Wally that they wanted your order in two days prior to pickup. Not a problem. Until, she went to schedule it. She wanted a early morning pick up, last Monday. When she went to schedule they wouldn't let her schedule two days in advance. I told her to check back later that evening............ no dice. She happened to wake up a little after midnight so she got up and scheduled it. The earliest she could get was between 10 and 11 AM. Can't imagine what time she would have got if she waited till 7 in the morning. Didn't work that way before the virus. There were only three items that they couldn't provide and those weren't cleaning products or TP.

She had heard that the personal shoppers do a good job, even with produce. However, as long as we're able, we prefer to do that ourselves. Same with meat............we only buy meat if it meets our criteria. Otherwise, we'll pass. We have two freezers and a side by side. Not going to run out of meat, chicken or fish, for a long time.

We ordered from Walmart for their curbside pickup and picked it up yesterday.
We didn't order much, just a trial run.
Of the six items we ordered, they substituted their brand for three name brands we ordered, black eyed peas, sour cream and bread. The bread expires in two days. That shouldn't be a problem, as we freeze our bread.
We also ordered 5 honey crisp apples, a red bell pepper and a green bell pepper.
Of the 5 apples, two were so bruised they can't be eaten and the other three will have to be eaten by tomorrow.
The peppers were wrinkled and old, but are not completely spoiled and will be used tonight.
They definately used us to get rid of old stock.
If your picky, you'd better go in and hand pick your groceries.

She went shopping this morning, asked me for disposable gloves to wear. Thought she would look funny but didn't care. Could have given her my painter mask but it's a big one with filters - would have scared the crew at the store. Home and she's wiping down everything! I'm trying to get out and spray for mosquitoes. Standing water last few weeks really brought them out.

Pass

Why wouldn't they tell you before arriving is my primary question & makes a guy wonder if they care about you or just trying to get rid of left overs?o_O

We get that with clients. Show up & they have 16 sick children.

If I'm sick I stay home & don't invite people over not sure why that's not common sense anymore.

Yeah, seriously.

Stuff like that is exactly how this has gotten so bad and why we can't have nice things right now (like income or not having to unexpectedly die alone in a hospital).

My wife and I drove over to the coast yesterday. Brookings, Oregon.
We stayed away from people, setting in the car watching the beach.
There were not a lot of folks there and they were staying away from others.
We had a take out lunch from our favorite fish house, a small mom and pop joint.
I had clam strips and she had clam chowder in bread bowl.
We were not allowed inside and they took our order at the door and were served takeout at an outside table.
BTW, no one else was anywhere near us.
We used plenty of hand sanitizer when we finished and washed our hands as soon as we could.
What a great getaway ….dale
