I wasn't referring to varmints. Not too many I wouldn't think trophy hunt varmints, even fewer mount them on the wall.

Is a jackalope a varmint or a game animal? If a varmint, there are many hunters who have theirs mounted. ;)

Game animal in Texas, I have one of those too, getting ready to hang it and a couple other European mounts I've been working on when I get them finished.

Another neat one from Shorpy.com
July 1941. "Store with cap guns and fireworks for sale, Fourth of July, Vale, Oregon." 35mm acetate negative by Russell Lee for the Farm Security Administration.

I should have guessed that, I used to shoot a few up near Turner. Knew it wasn't a Mi. coyote by the color.

The two rich neighbor friends each had a Fanner 50. Mine was just some ordinary pot metal cap pistol.
A roll of caps and a hammer relieved boredom.

Michigan Coyote, iced up and starting to singe, typical here in late January. Our Coyotes are darker and from my limited experience a lot larger than those in Montana. This one was almost 6' from tip of nose to tip of tail.

Sophie looks like she's going to punch someone with Bertha's help.

Grandpa H worked at the Wyandotte Toy factory until the business went belly up in the mid 50's. When he died I found these in an old shoebox. The space gun looking thing is a water pistol, the others are cap pistols.

I had one just like the one on the right. Was a hand me down from my uncle.
Red Ranger, think it was a knock off of the red rider kit. Probably was made and sold at the Woolworth 5 and 10, that was the only store that sold toys in the town my uncle live around.
It came with a ranger badge and a plastic holster with a cap holder.
I left it lay in the drive, and my dad ran over it with a car.:(
