Winelover

LR-308 has a case deflector like a -15. Not sure about the Armalite. If it's slinging them at heading 160, it needs more gas. Suppressed and gas tuned the port is too loud so I wear a foam plug in the right ear when hunting. If all else fails, Caldwell makes a nice brass catcher that keeps them from going down your shirt.
I never paid attention to the angle my AR 10 Armalite (308W) slings brass. As a lefty, it's not an issue. I don't use a brass catcher. I hang a large mesh tarp off to the right side of the shooting bench. I did pick up a net style brass catcher but haven't tried it out yet. Been a couple of years since I've shot it.

Rick can tell you how loud and massive the muzzle blast is on that carbine. No suppressor in use here. I prefer the sounds of freedom.

That rifle is just plain nasty. John was shooting it, I was sitting behind and to the left of him and the muzzle blast took my hat off. o_O
