New cheapy Simmons spotting scope has a very short focus distance. Like 20' or something which is what I needed for indoor pistol range.
The stand that came with it was doodoo.
We have Pony pipe clamps running out of our ears. Heck,this one was brandy new. Anyway, a 2 1/2" muffler clamp and a weldment "sleeve",throw in some threading and,sent it to paint dept.
Adjusts,very quickly in 4 axis.... faster than you can say it. And unlike the "playscool" junk stand it came with,this one stays EXACTLY where you lock it down at. Took a cpl hours but am thoroughly satisfied and enjoyed making it.
