I haven't run any real tests to see if it makes a difference in the shooting, but I can sure tell the difference when seating a primer.

Like everything else it only matters when it matters. With a good load in a good firearm when looking for long range accuracy it can make a difference. It definitely helps uniform extreme velocity spread. It won't however turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.
