Sorry you cannot find 2400!!!

I literally just got home from a gun shop trip. My buddy and his nurse wife showed up this AM telling me I was going "Grailin" with him!!
For years we worked together and would go to hun shops just looking together.

What a nice suprise! Anyhow shop had quate a selection if everything! VERY VERY well stocked. They also had cases of 1# bottles of 2400 and many other powders. No Varget tho. ;( I did grab two bottles of 4227 that I was low on. Full spread if Ramshot powders and a goodly selection of Hogdon and winchesters too.

I use 4198, 1680 and used to use lil gun and a 35g in the Hornet.

Lil'Gun. You might look at the current forum topic titled Lil' Gun (The Propellent from Hell) in my 357 magnum though. Basically, a case full of powder under a 35-45 grain bullet though. It's the only powder I use in 7 different 22 Hornets with the 45 grain Hornady Hornet bullet. Also, H110/Win 296 serves well.

I've never owned a .22 Hornet. But if you can find some Vihtavouri N110, this is not only highly suitable for the .22 Hornet, but also an extremely useful cast bullet propellant in a wide variety of cartridges.

Ramshot True Blue might work, too. I think it's a repackaged Accurate powder, not sure what number.

Accurate #9 works well too.

Won’t get top end velocity but Unique does some good work on the Hornet too

First W-W 680 if you can find it (680 is discontinued), then AA 1680.

For both the .22 Hornet and the .218 Bee.
Best I can determine, WW680 last batch was made about 1974. Last WW load data was about in the mid-1980's when WW296 was being sold. They stop supplying load data when the last went out of the warehouse I think.

Enforcer and 4100 are the same powder with different labels.
slightly faster than 2400, mainly because it is made into smaller granules.
meters better than 2400 though, which is saying something.

I've hoarded three pounds since I lived in Illinois. There were bought before 1985 when I left Illinois. (Has it been over thirty-seven years? Does not seem so.) I finally used up my last half-pound three years ago on our last Montana prairie dog trip.

I have 4 pounds of WW680 that I picked up at Langley’s gun room in the late 70’s early 80’s. Dude ( Old man Langley) recommended it for my 218 Bee.
I have 3 & 3/4 cans left as I sold my model 43 shortly after.
But now that I have a new to me 218 Bee and a Hornet I can put the 680 to use.
Wonder how it would work in a 25-20

Just as well!! I only have a lil over a pound remaining & only recently got that. What I had years ago has been gone for ten+ years... 1680 is a dandy in my hornet, bees 25/20 & 32/20's too!
