Suggestions for a 357 mag mold

The lee 125gr looks pretty interesting also. If nothing else it would be nice in the fixed sight 38 specials.
Looks like I may need 2 molds.

I've always preferred heavy for caliber bullets in the 357 mag, 180-200 grain. For light stuff in the 125-140 grain range there is always the 38 special. But that's just me, I don't try to make my 38 into a magnum and likewise don't try to make the 357m into a 38 special.

The 125gr Lee also works well for me in 9mm. With lots of good bullets from 90 grs to 200 grs something can be found to shoot to POA in fixed sight guns, at least elevation wise.

Light for caliber bullets aren't going to shoot to POA, usually, on fixed sighted firearms.

My results in four different fixed-sight .38 DA revolvers has been that 125 grains under a nearish max load of anything in the range of Bullseye to Unique shoots to the sights at 15 yards while 150-160 grain bullets shoot 4-5" high. The Lee 125 RF is fantastic for those and all I use.

As for .357 I don't shoot much but the Lyman cowboy bullet did well enough after I lapped it to .3585". It has been replaced with the ever-popular Lee RNFP with the bevel base. They shoot fine, bevel base and all. If you just hate the BB you can shave them out 90% with a utility knife and finish off nicely with a .358" chucking reamer and some blend with 600 sandpaper wrapped around a dowel.

I've got the 358-429, the 358-477, the 358-156gc and one of Veral Smith's WFN 160 gr. mold. I also have some Miha HP 125, and 140 gr. molds.
To me, it's a toss up between the 160 gr. WFN and the Miha 140 Penta Point.
The 160 probably is the most versitile and best for heavy duty and penetration on bigger critters, but that 140 gr. Penta Point sure looks good and is very accurate.
I wouldn't hesitate to load either for plinking or self defense.

I love those wide flat nose bullets. Very accurate and hit like a ton of bricks.

Lee 358125FN and 358158FN shoot great for me. Lately I have grown to like the NOE 357135 FN. All @ .358

At the end of the day it’s really hard to beat the value of a Lee 6 cavity mold.
