I ordered another set of Thailand grips,
This time from Ebay seller goodsinfinite
I really had a hard time searching/finding what I wanted for this 58, so I settled for these.
open back N frame Sq Butt...Seller's ad showed 3 available.
When I asked if I could see the actual grips, and have choice, they emailed these photos.
Seller said, "Grips are all the same size, photo angle makes some look smaller."
I choose #2
they are suppose to be delivered in 4 to 8 weeks.
I'll keep you posted.

I remember when those Magna grips were in every LGS' junk box. You could buy them all day for $1/pair. Everyone wanted aftermarket grips. I have to agree, I never liked the shape of those grips. They are anatomically incorrect IMHO. That said, they are the perfect starting point for custom grips. I bought 1 pair out of a junk box and made a set for my 586. I wish I had bought all I could find. Shortly thereafter, they all disappeared because everyone was trying to sell their blue S&W's as factory original to get the big bucks.

They are certainly not the same as the original S&W factory grips but for the money, you really can't go wrong with the price of those Thailand sourced grips.

The finish seems to be some spray on final sealer/color. I'm guessing, the blend of that sealer/stain gets altered over time and that accounts for some of the variation in color. In any event, unless you're a collector - those grips are entirely serviceable and a good deal.

P&P, someone mentioned color-stain before (maybe it was you?)
The two previous sets don't have a color-stain, and almost seem like no sealer/preservative at all? But there is likely some sort of sealer or oil treatment on them. Now I did buy the other two sets from other ebay vendors, but I have an inkling that most all of these Thailand ebay vendors that are selling grips, are working for the same company...assuming "company" is the correct word?

I really like the look of the orange paduk wood. I am assuming the other color tones are just different varieties of wood.

jaruwan.p is the Guy to find! Excellent fit!

You just cost me some money, @JWFilips .;)

I asked this fella a couple years ago if he had any Charter Arms grips and he said "check back in a month." I FORGOT to. Just checked his site and he has a bunch of them now. I've been using a ground-down set of hideous Charter factory rubber, but have been looking for wood. This fella's grips cost less than many are asking for Charter factory wood grips.

I bought a set for an SP101 from this fella several years ago and they were VERY nice grips. They were a tad wide in the front, but then I have short fingers. Easy enough to remove some material on the smooth ones, so I think I need to get a set of these.

Thanks for the reminder!

The grips arrived Wednesday, I finally got around to opening the package.
First, WOW, arrived in only 12 days, from Thailand, I am quite surprised.
They do seem to need a tiny bit of trimming/adjustment to make them fit,
I haven't had time to do that yet.
I'll post photos when that happens.
