The 30-30

I'm fond of the 30-30 and I've had Marlins and Winchesters and Savages but my favorite is my home assembled 1916 Mauser 30-30 sporter.

Accurate Molds told me just now that they have no clue what the "clone of the #315 is."

Can you give us more information please?

I took this directly from Accurate Mould's website.
Not certain who answered the phone ? ?
I'm friends with Tom, I can't picture him making a comment like that.

That also says inspired by, not clone, so is it close to a 315, or a clone? There is a difference in those two words.

There are two rifle calibers I would never be without the 30-30 and the .303 Brit. Don't ask me to get down to one. Love to have either in a single shot. Presently making do with a Marlin and a scoped Longbranch. Nice shooting Ben.

Take Care

@Ben did you order that mold with custom band diameters, or did you just order it as Tom has it speced out? was looking at ordering one in a GC, had considered doing a pound cast on the rifle before I ordered it, just wondering how yours was made.

Thanks, I’m going to pound cast my venture anyway to see what diameter I need to order, I’m still trying to get around to the rifle project. It needs a good cleaning and do the pound cast then I’ll be on track. I have 4-5 bullets to try in it, but I’m liking the 315 design. Think it will do well in it as well as a 30-30 if I can ever find me a single shot on the shelf. Wish CVA made one in the scout rifles.
