The dreaded Marlin jam

As for wrong part... I have already explained Lifters are Unobtanium. Levers are widely offered.

That's silly. Butttocks are available too, why not grind on that to fix your problem? How about instead, you modify the CORRECT part to make it do what you want, carefully, and a tiny but at a time wirh a stone instead if going after it with power tools.

I told you back on post 45 not to grind that step off the lever nose, in all capital letters as I recall. You replied after that, making sense about where the surfaces were that raise the lifter to cut-off, so don't gimme that "too late" line unless you just weren't paying attention.

This is my welded up polished out part.
Altho this is very hard unknown material composition, it about got away from me

But carful pre heat and heat isolation I was able to get a couple spot beade's on and ground out flush and smooth. I actually hit width spot on first time. But had to add more material to fill and get smoother result.

Here is a quick short of it working.

Big thanks to all. Doing things like this is difficult enough, just using the written word with out the unwanted cheering section. :p
But I got it done and would have been far longer at it with out the combined help & efforts of members here. So I want to thank you all.

Merry Christmas

I was able to shoot this rifle Today.

I am beyond pleased. I brought EVERY LOAD I HAD!! Shot over a dozen selections over chrony but only on steel. EVERY LOAD cycled perfectly!! I did get nervious with a 358430 195g. It was much longer then any load I had and I knew some where right at max oal for my checkers. So I single loaded it. Fired find and struck steel. Second and third would not go in. Or allow level to cycle!! Well it only cause the case was fully chambered with lever open and extra rim dia stopped lofter from finishing its arc of movement. Once I realized it was all fine.

So super happy!!
