The Reloading Component Draught, When Will It Rain Again.

I had a 1968 Chevy cargo van (snub nose style), with a 3 on the tree.
The linkage on that van was worn...and I imagine it was quite long links, as the bottom of the steering column was nearly touching the Headlights
Anyway, when shifting into second gear, if I wasn't careful, I'd often find the linkage's "NO MANS LAND" and it became stuck out of gear, until I rolled to a stop and crawled under the van and jiggled the linkage to free it up.

Driving that thing in hot weather was no fun, My right leg was always leaning against the uninsulated doghouse, and that 350 would heat it up real good.

I was in my mid twenties when I saw “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre”. I was floored when I heard the “no stinking badges” line. I just laughed and laughed.

I had first seen “Blazing Saddles” when I was about 8 years old. I had no idea at 8 that they were referencing all these earlier films. With lines like “We don’t need no stinking badges!”

3" in the last 36 hr ......

What's your name ?
I was named after my father , Handsome Stranger .

We had a 66 or 69 Econoline when I was 7-8 . It had the double swinging side and back doors . We had it 1 summer most of which we on the the highway ran with the doghouse over that 240 I-6 propped open an the side door too to draw enough air to keep it all cool .

Bought some stuff , not too sure about the NEI mould . I'm sure it'll be fine in the 45 Raptor , not too sure about 380 gr ........ Missionary offered to take it if it doesn't work , might go ahead and lend it to him for the season .

I can remember a hardware store in south east Ohio, back in the 80's, used to put up their full boxes of slugs right before deer season. Then sell them for 75 cent a slug. People would complain Because a week before they could buy a box of five for like 3 bucks. The owners responded was"well it weren't deer season a week ago, now it is" . They would gripe but it was the only place around in 50 miles that sold ammo. So they would pay.

I never saw that here, But when we hunted No VT ABSOLUTELY!!! EVERY STORE had a box of 30/30-35-30/06... @ the regester and they sold them One bullet at a time.
It wasnt a price gouge thing it was just a bunch a CHEAP YANKEES!!! Only "need" one bullet to shoot a "Barre" or Deer!!

I didnt get up there past two years. But Three years ago was same deal!! Been so for generations likely!

Back on thread . . . .

My local Gun Store, yes, it is called "The Gun Store", in Lancaster, California, finally got a shipment of powder in. Most of the good stuff was gone the next day. I didn't bother to ask the prices because . . . I was afraid! LOL

Except in the large cities, Rick. For example, the official tree of Lincoln NE is the traffic cone.

See, I tied it all back together, nice and neat.

Hate driving in Lincoln. I end up on the damned angled streets getting lost.

And we are Nebraskans, we don’t need no steenkin trees.

I had to go in to LNK today. this time I remembered to check the road construction first, and planned accordingly. Only doubled the duration of my "quick trip", but much less stressful. I need to get out a street map and plot the route I winded up taking: I strongly suspect it would look like a treble clef.

Honestly, the only difference between repaired streets in Lincoln, and streets being repaired is the presence, or lack thereof construction equipment. Street quality is the same, and most repairs only make the streets worse.

Houston and Dallas the same, continuous construction - cutting square holes in a road to 'fix' it. My small town just got a Fed grant to fix roads, so they can keep their city worker pay up.

Los Angeles has the right idea. Well they seem to think so. Never ever anywhere will any new, repair, replacement water line, sewer line or underground utilities be installed until that street is freshly and completely repaved. ONLY then can work commence.
