Just couldn't take it: some idiot is trapping Neighborhood cats and sending them to the pound to be terminated!!! Without looking for their owners!
At the same time in my area some idiot is baiting treble fish hooks with meat and fishing for cats! Sick People! Can't even say it is offensive with out getting me finally banned!
Thank GOD this is a sane place!

Don't feel bad Jim, had I been there and read someone not only doing that but then bragging about it online I too would be tossed out on my heiny. I'll wager the moronic POS making the claims is still there.

Wow, it sounds almost like a juicy enough crap storm to go to the site and look for it. It's not, but almost! So you can't voice an opinion even on something like that? I wonder how that effects the revenue stream?

The sanity level here is most refreshing.

That "Baited fish hook" bit for catching cats is a sick course of conduct, and is at least a "wobbler" felony in California. ("Wobbler" is a slang term for crimes chargeable as either felonies or misdemeanors by statutory language). Most "Animal cruelty" cases were charged as misdemeanors on first offense, and as felonies 2nd time around. LOTS of repeat offenders, esp. the chicken fighters. "Civilization" can be a really thin veneer at times.

I have High Blood pressure Which my Doc tells me they are controlling: I have found that Talk radio & other (not to be mentioned NO No stuff here)
only causes it to go into Overload!
This place is very peaceful and calming to me...that is why I am here! I don't even know why I go and cross those tracks to that side? Bad enough I watch my local news to hear about cat fishing!
I just have to stay here with good friends and folks I can trust!
Guys thanks for such a great place to hang out!

This is only the third forum I've ever joined. The other two were the one Jim mentioned and I quit many years ago, the other was a Ruger forum moderated by a self-important despot who made that a very short term membership. I don't listen to talk radio, don't watch television, and this forum is the extent of my on-line socializing.

The only "news" I keep up with is close family. Other than that I already know how I'm gonna vote in all the elections, am fully aware of the past, present, and inevitable future of our republic, and could care less about what dress the Dutchess of Canterbury wore this morning.

I do keep up with aviation and space news (have since I was a kid and especially so since Boeing signed my checks), and also keep up with several other things related to the global financial situation and state-level "underground" information through various sources, but that's about all I have the time or stomach for outside of this board or a brief, occasional visit to two other boards not related to bullet casting.

FWIW, I do try to keep on the news, but not though talk radio and certainly not through TV news outside of our local broadcast of local news. I wandered around in ignorance for a couple decades, believing that what I heard was an accurate retelling of events. Might as well have gone down to the coffee shop or bar and gotten a daily update. So I do try to keep track of what interests me and I research what I read/hear to try to figure out what really going on, or at least get a more accurate assessment. No, I can't watch the network news or listen to NPR, for example, without the BP shooting through the roof, but at least I can make a better judgement based on fact rather than opinion.

I saw a video once where feral cats had taken over certain rural parts of a country and were decimating wildlife. I want to say it was Australia, but I can’t say for sure.

No offense but you misunderstand. My blood boils listening to the "facts" on the news. The cat thing is wrong, but pales in comparison with some other all too common events.
