I don't get the high numbers on the 452423 at all. It doesn't do much for me at all. The "NIB" part is nice, but I still don't feel anything for it. I'd want to see pics of the under side of the sprue plate before accepting the NIB claim.

I must be missing something here, and I love single cavity Ideals, but my tastes run to the unvented ones.

Kinda amazing; no hint that Elmer or Skeeter owned it. Was hoping it was a square grease groove, but I’ve never seen a 452423 with a square grease groove. Some guys got the have to win fever going.

I’ve been watching it 3-4 days now and everyday I am amazed at the price it’s going for. I’d be a happy man if I could get 250 bucks plus for it.

it’s going to get interesting in the next 25 minutes or so.

Well I was wrong still 250 was quite the price.

I had one, but it was a Yankee, not an Ideal. I sold it to a guy who wanted a period correct design for a 1940s era S&W 25 in 45 ACP/AR. He didn't care that it wasn't an Ideal, we told me he just wouldn't let his friends see the mould. It was in excellent shape, and he was really happy.

I know I have a 4 cav Lyman IINM a 1 & 2 cav as well... No way worth that money.

I did just pay 123$ + ship for that Ideal 7 cav arsenal mold.

Hmmm, Wonder why he backed out? He will end up dropping that price to sell for what its worth, or he will get someone who has more money than sense to buy it. Kind of hate to tell him, he didn't sell it for 250 either. Fairly priced molds sell on the Bay, overpriced don't sell near as much and you see them relisted all the time. I've been watching 1 for 6-8 months that has went unsold, I made him a fair offer on it and he said ill sell it. guess what its still there. I have contemplated making him another offer on it, just to see, sort of waiting on the market to go down some more and maybe he will accept a reasonable offer.

CW there's another arsenal mold on the bay that's in pretty rough shape, wanting 275.00 starting bid, no bids! I think you did ok at 123 seems like a fair price to me.

Well as we’re on the subject of mold prices, maybe you guys can indulge me with your thoughts on what these 2 molds are worth. I bought these in 1983 from Walt at NEI made for JD Jones of SSK. These are 41 caliber Sledgehammer molds, never used in the boxes. I bought these for to use in 41 mag and possibly a 405 model 95 Winchester takedown I had at the time. Which I still had that one.
These are 225, 275, and a 300 grain mold. I’ve been wanting to sell them but don’t really know what to ask. They are I believe rare, especially in this condition.
I really like the Sledgehammer design as I have a 2 cavity in each a 300 grain 44 and a 200 grain 358. Those aren’t going anywhere. All of these SSK molds were purchased in the early 80’s.

100% STIHL!!

I didnt want to get into that with him.
No way its worth a 1/3 of what he is asking.
But there is a fool born every minute. Some folks simply have disposable income.

Thank you I agree and felt it was a good price. I know I enjoy it

B' B' B' But that Ideal has a nice original box and papers !

Speaking of original packaging...
The local gun show is this weekend, I always have a table. As I was scrounging for random items to put on the table, I found a empty 1970s vintage orange-gold Unique canister that's minty (and empty, LOL), I'll probably but $20 on that. I have a couple original boxes for the Lyman 45 (lubesizer) ...I grabbed the nicest looking one, still has the paper manual and cardboard insert which has Lyman markings. I think I'll put $30 on that. No one buys this vintage empty packaging, but I get a royal kick out of everyone who picks them up, to confirm they truly are empty. Gun shows are just full of people who just feel the need to touch stuff. I figure if I give them something like a empty box to touch, then they won't grab my $1000+ revolvers, LOL :p

I also have a couple unmarked H&G molds (projects), that I'll put on the table...maybe a couple Lee molds too...maybe a set of Lee 9mm dies too.
