Looking at a Tikka T3 in 30-06 that has approx 120 rounds fired through it. It's priced reasonable, but I have no experience with the brand or the caliber. Aneone have experience with the brand?

Everybody I have run into likes Tikka rifles, and from the comments they are accurate. You can not go wrong with the 30-06. It's the do everything (almost) base cartridge I compare other cartridges to.

My friend purchased a pair of T3 Tikkas.

Both had a bit too much up pressure in the end of the fore end.
Neither would shoot well with that much up pressure.
I removed the up pressure and free floated the barrels.
Both are super accurate rifles now.

He's got this T3 priced at $550 + shipping of $35. New ones are considerably more pricey. One other caveat; it's for a Lefty.

I’ve never owned a T3 myself, but in Norway this is an extremely popular rifle. They typically are accurate, very good factory trigger, very smooth bolt and plenty of after-market parts. Very rigid action, good accuracy platform. The less popular aspects are aluminum recoil lug, «cheap» plastic stock and plastic bolt shroud (tends to fall of after a few thousand full power shots). The T3x has steel recoil lug and bolt shroud, and these parts are available as after- market parts.
All in all, I think this is a very sound rifle- can’t go wrong with it.

I own three T3s. When they were introduced I bought a 22-250, later my wife gave me a 25-06, and last year I bought an 8x57mm. The first two have produced lots of 1/2" groups and I'm trying to get there with the 8mm. The slant cut butt and bootheel kick pad along with the light weight make them kick. Mine are the Hunter walnut models but I have a factory syn stock that fits all three.
These three cover anything I can afford to hunt. Great rifles! Good luck with your oughtsix!

Got her last night. A little oil, paste wax and a patch down the barrel and she's very presentable. After cleaning the bolt face I used my RCBS Trigger Pull Gauge and got a consistant 2# crisp release. I'm going to enjoy shooting this one, when the rain quits.Tikka.jpg

Nice looking rifle, Gary. They put the bolt handle on the correct side, too, very cool.

I'm severly right handed but left hand rifles are cool and kinda handy on the bench with the action opening where I can see it.....
I checked zero on all my T3s last Friday. All three shot under an inch with hunting loads. I'm still waiting on the bolt shroud, the cheap factory rings, and the Al recoil lug to fail. No problems yet.
