Timney trigger for the '03 Springfield

Update. I gave the rifle and trigger to a buddy at work who is very competent at working on rifles and triggers. He found it was a problem with the firing pin rod. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/514300
He bought another one of Ebay for $12 and with a little inlet work on the stock got me up and running. He said there was no way to make the trigger work with the firing pin rod that was in the rifle the way it was. Lots of work would have had to been done. Just happy it is in and functional now. I'll have the rifle back tomorrow at work. Very happy to get a nice trigger in this great shooting rifle after so much time. I have like 70 cases prepped and primed ready to load. I'll look back at my notes and or youtube videos to see what loads showed promise the the stock trigger and go from there. Happy camper.

This was the problem. The one on the bottom was the original.

looks like someone run a file over it too many times.
i've barely knocked that corner off a few rifles to help the trigger let go of the firing pin a little smoother,,but nuthin that far.

Strange the experienes in life, I've installed at least eight Timneys in my o3's o3A3's and 1917, the majority having the original mil. stocks,a couple having aftermarket sporter stocks. the only thing I had to do was relieve the stocks so the set screws would have clearence or widen the trigger channel ever so slightly, but again I never had one with a safety they are a great upgrade.
